The original movie poster is very hard to find, also haven't found any good reproductions.

I created this poster for a friends birthday, it will be printed in 100 x 75 cm on canvas.
steps I did:

1. bought a huge original movie poster on ebay (size 2x A0)
2. scanned both parts (left and right side, each resulting in 3,1 GB TIFF)
3. stitched together both parts (digitally and seamless of course)
4. removing scratches and damages of the original poster (due to age)
5. fixing contrast issues and errors of the scanner... (arrrgh, affordable A0 scan options are rare)
6. removing dithering, smoothing stuff, enhancing details (this took the most time for sure)
7. Extended top and bottom a bit to fit the 4:3 format
8. reworking the title to be more readable in contrast to the original
9. Enhancing the coloring (maybe too much, but it's hard stuff for a color blind ;))

Final resolution: 8000 x 6000 px which is quite fine for that size of print.
