Fort Gnisis

Description
===REQUIRES DRAGONBORN===
===I highly recommend you download this on the Nexus at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36315/? for no better reason than I trust the Nexus more===

Across the border into the ancient Ancestral home of the Dunmer, lies Fort Gnisis.

Abandoned months after the cataclysmic eruption of Red Mountain, many Dunmeri fled their homelands to seek refuge in neighboring provinces, leaving behind the great cities and honored landmarks.

The fort lay in ruin for years upon years, collecting dust and ash when the bastion would fall downwind of the smoking, angry mountain. The skies have cleared, as of late, and allowed for a notorious crew of Dunmeri bandits to take claim of what was left for their own, including the treasures left behind by the Redoran soldiers and diplomats who garrisoned the fort long before them.

Will you claim the treasures from these bloodthirsty raiders? Will you take the ancient stone walls for yourself? The Fort is yours -- For the Iron Price.

======================Details========================
Fort Gnisis comes with everything you'd expect out of a player home:

-A plethora of Mannequins, Weapon Plaques, and Shield Plaques
-Not lacking in display cases either
-Smelter, Forge, Workbench, Grindstone, and storage for related items.
-Areas to mine some lower leveled ores.
-Wood block for wood cutting.
-A LOT of room for companions -- It's what this mod was made for.
-A handful of book cases
-A vault for all your valuables, including an open chest so you can drop your goods in and watch your fortune grow.
-Shrines to Daedric lords featured in Dragonborn
-A room for Enchanting and Alchemy, complete with cool effects to really make you feel like a wizard.
-A brand new companion!
-Two new playable fire-enchanted ash spawn weapons! ((will be nerfed in next update))

For right now, you can fast travel directly to the forts entrance. It's an invisible door marker that you simply walk into like a cave (to make it seem like your character just walks there. It's supposed to be beyond Skyrims borders), Check the screenshots for details.

========================Bugs==================================
Only one that I can think of, which may or may not be fixed in a future update. You can't fast travel, as it's in its own worldspace, and I'm not sure how to "connect" it to Skyrim the same way the Fort Dawnguard (From the Dawnguard DLC, duh) is. If anyone knows how to do this, PLEASE send me a message.

It's been awhile since the last time I uploaded a mod, and the last one I had was rather... Disappointing. So be sure to tell me if you spot any bugs!

==========================Installation=================================
To install simply drag and drop the HlaaluRetreat.esp into the Data folder which SHOULD be located in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\data

============================Version History===========================
1.1 -- Cleaned with Tes5Edit
1.0 -- Release

Plans for the Future
===========================Plans for the Future========================
-Integration with the map, hopefully
-A weekly time skip when traveling to and from the fort via the mountain passes

eh, long as the mod's still up. i made the follower from the abandoned apartment a vampire lord, using the follower tweaks mod. just give a heads up if you ever delete the mod, so i can dismiss him.

@Ravenwolf2

Unfortunately, due to many computer upgrades/switches and new interests I am no longer supporting Fort Gnisis for now. Either way, I never really made it to play well with any mods other than follower mods regardless, though whatsherface from Solstheim is... Odd. While the mod does definitely use DB assets I never even opened any cells from Solstheim during the development process so it must be a bug- I assume- native to your file.

Bethesda games do stuff like that sometimes :/

apparently, this & the morrowind border trading shack mod connect. they're compatible but it seem's whenever something happen's in one mod, it happen's in the other. the merchent in the MBTS seem's to pull a disappearing act. this effect's some of the reavers & the optional follower in the abandoned apartment. also, one of the characters from solstheim just showed up in the enchantment & alchemy room. i don't remember her name, but she's the one that always die's, then you have to find the tel vanni wizard a new house carl.

@Ravenwolf, I created them to do so yeah. They are the same as vanilla mannequins so if you happen to have the mannequin script fix they should still apply.

yea, i got in. didn't expect reavers but i liked the loot. do the items actually stay on the mannequins, weapon racks & in the storage areas?

@Ravenwolf, I never had one so no. Just walk along the road just past the broken down tower. It has a cave type entrance so just walk down the road and you'll end up spawning.

As for how far across, I'm not entirely sure. I liked to imagine it somewhere a day or two past the border we see in Skyrim and on the way to the new Dunmeri capitol of Blacklight.

how far across the border is it supposed to be?
Kalona RavenKin Oct 23, 2014 @ 3:58pm
does this require the border regions enable command?

Whoops, sorry if I seemed aggresive, that wasn't my intention. And it's called Fort Gnisis after the city, since the Dunmeri family that controlled it hailed from Gnisis.

ok, i surrender! but then u shoulda called it something else. :-)
