Description
Description
Are the thick dark blue lakes that dot the map looking a bit bland? Do you think the rivers look too gray and not bright enough? This mod is for you!

Vibrant Waters improves fresh water in Civ 6 into more vibrant, brighter shades, WITHOUT impacting performance!

Mod Effects
Vibrant Waters affects the following types of water:
  • Rivers
  • Lakes
  • Oases
  • Dead Sea
  • Crater Lake
  • Motlatse Canyon [Terra Mirabilis]
  • Sukritact's Tonle Sap

It works on saved games and can be turned on or off at any time.

Compatibility
Vibrant Waters is a lightweight mod with no known incompatibility issues. It will NOT affect game performance either, so use it without fear!

Special Thanks to Deliverator, without whom this mod would not have been possible.

Why does it look like someone's dropping explosives on the shores of all the new screenshots?

Very nice! Time to redo all the texture tiles, lol. Serious, you should do a mod to replace the trees and jungle trees. That would make the game 100x better.

does it happen to suffer when put text to mods that add things such a wonders which include water?

@lytleclan - Thanks for the feedback!

@kbfz - I experimented with darker lake water at first but I'm quite happy with the way it turned out and how all the different water textures play well with one another. Plus altering the lake textures will affect all bodies of water that use that texture, like Tonle Sap. Long story short, getting these textures just right for me was an extremely tedious process and I don't want to revisit it and risk messing it up.

I would tell you that there are a couple limited parameters in the material files you could try messing with, but since they are 'cooked' into the mod upon it being built by the modding tools, altering them in your files won't do anything unfortunately.

Hey! Any possibility that you could darken or alter the lake texture to make it easier to visually differentiate between lakes and coast? I've gotten them confused a few times

This is a great mod for visuals! Thank you for your efforts.
