The resets are intended to save you time when you miss a hole-in-one option (rather than waiting for your ball to stop bouncing), or prevent you from taking an easier route than intended.

Unless you're talking about being reset while ON the course, in which case that would certainly be a bug. Can you be more specific about the resets you're referring too?

Half the holes just reset you for no reason...
