garry's mod Achievement Guide

This is a complete achievement guide for gmod. Nothing more, nothing less.

Prologue

Welcome to garry's mod, a.k.a. gmod! If you're anything like me, you love getting achievements for games! Garry's mod is no different! Most of the achievements are from medium to hard difficulty. Before you begin your (very) long journey to complete g-mod, I highly suggest you subscribe to the achievement tracker in the Garry's mod workshop.(Link: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=104609421 )(Credit to creator!)

Play Singleplayer

This is quite simple, just start up a Singleplayer Game.

Play Multiplayer

Again, self-explanatory, start up a multiplayer game, choose a server, and then join.

Play Around

You have to play a gamemode that isn't a sandbox game. If you have Team Fortress 2 (which you should, as it is free!) you can just play around in a map from that game. If not, join a multiplayer game, that isn't sandbox.

Bad Coder

To get this achievement, you have to experience 500 coding errors. What normally would take a long time, is made simple by the use of the Pi Master 1.00 on the workshop. Simply right click rapidly and the achievement will be yours in about 5 minutes, depending on how fast your finger is.

Map Loader

For this achievement, you need to load 20 maps. Again, if you have Team Fortress 2, you can just launch 20 different maps from that game. There are 63 total, so you have plenty of options.

Ball Eater

Eat 200 balls. This achievement is pretty easy. To spawn a ball, go to Entitites>Fun+Games>Bouncy Ball
To eat a ball, press "E". A simple and fast way to do this is look at the ground, and spawn bouncy balls while pressing "E" at the same time. It should only take a minute to get to 200.

Secret Phrase

One of the easiest achievements in the game. Go to any map, any server, press "Y" to access the chat box, and type in "bloxwich" (no quotes)

Popper

Simply pop 1000 balloons. I reccommend placing between 200-500 balloons, to avoid clogging the server, and then placing dynamite to blow it up. Repeat as needed.

War Zone

Kill 1000 Baddies. An easy way to do this is to first place a large amount of dynamite in a small area, and then spawning, say, 200-500 zombie torsos, then blow them up. Rinse and repeat.

Yes, I'm the Real Garry!

This, quite possibly, is the hardest achievement in the game. In order to get it, you have to be on a server with the real garry. In order to do that, you will need to keep an eye on garry's official steam profile (Link:http://steamcommunity.com/id/garry) And join when he plays. As he rarely plays nowadays, this could be nearly impossible.

Procreator

Spawn 1000 NPCs. If you are going for War Zone, Bad Friend, etc., then you will automatically get this.

Bad Friend

Kill 1000 friendly NPCs. Pretty much follow the same procedure as with War Zone and Innocent Bystander. Create a nest of dynamite, and then spawn any NPC from the Humans+Resistance tab.

Innocent Bystander

Kill 1000 animals. Again, we're going to follow the same procedure that we did with War Zone and Bad Friend. However, this time, spawn NPCs from the Animals tab. I used Father Grigori, as he did not move, and of course functioned as a human, even though he's for some reason with the animals.

Creator

Spawn 5000 props. This achievement goes hand-in-hand with "Destroyer". So for instance, if you spawn 250 props, and then remove them, by the 5000th prop, you should have gotten both achievements. Anyway, I wouldn't reccommend spawning more than 200-500 props in one map, depending on your computer. It's a bit of a grind, but doable.

Destroyer

Remove 5000 things. Like I said in "Creator", just destroy all of the props you spawn. To "destroy" something, you need to use the remover. The remover is found under Tools>Construction>Remover

Friendly

Play with 10 friends. Obviously, you're going to need to have 10 friends on your friends list that own garry's mod. Then, it's a matter of playing with them all. Not too much of a problem if you're a social person.

Menu User

Open the spawn menu 100,000 times. This achievement will be quite the grind. This is where the achievement viewer will be very helpful. As you should (hopefully) know, to open the spawn menu, press "Q". I reccomend watching a movie or something while garry's mod is running, and repeatedly pressing "Q". To do this, startup your movie, press ALT+TAB to navigate back to garry's mod. You can put the window in the bottom right corner, so it shouldn't distract you at all. Then just keep opening the spawn menu. It might take a few movies, but you get the picture.

Dollhouse

Spawn 2000 ragdolls. Ragdolls are any characters in the Half-Life 2 (or any other game) spawnlist. You can use this towards the Creator and also the Destroyer achievements.

Half-Marathon/Marathon

These achievements are not as hard as they may sound. Simply start up a game, making sure that you select the amount of players to be at least two. Then, just back off and come back 8 hours later!

Mega Upload achievements

These achievements will be quite difficult. I reccommend becoming experienced in gmod, learning how to add things. Then, after a few practice uploads, hopefully come up with a killer upload. After that, advertise it among your friends, and get them to rate it!

Time Waster achievements

Accumulating 525,498 minutes on garry's mod is going to be a challenge, and will probably be the last achievement you'll get, if you do. The only thing I can suggest is to leave garry's mod running on an unused computer 24/7. Make sure that the game is not paused, or the Steam Community tab is not up.

Startup Millenium.

Startup Garry's mod 1000 times. Not much I can say here, it's pretty self-explanatory.

um, does the game freezing and connection problems but not losing connection when doing the method for 8 hours in a normal singleplayer game set up for 2 players, does all that mess up the achievement? because I just had the game open for 8 hours and it didn't work

It's impossible to get the Garry achievement as he retired and making it completely "impossible".

I got the "Bad friend" achievement in a pretty interesting way, here's what i did: i got the npc spawn platforms (link is https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=107821465&searchtext=npc+spawn ) then i made it spawn i think 5 or 4 citizens, and i just kept killing them until i got the achievement.
