Description
Yes, this is FU compatible :P

//The following is an emergency broadcast from the Terrene Protectorate
"With the fall of Earth comes our own fall. Humanity is either under some new power or near extinct. To any and all remaining Protectors in this dark galaxy, our hearts and minds are with you, for you are our last chance, our last hope, for redemption"

This mod is basically a miscellaneous content mod with a strong focus on expanding upon the game's lore in a manner in-keeping with its canon, as well as introducing things I feel are """missing""" (in a particularly subjective sense) from the base game. Given the fairly even spread of the mod's content, it's meant to have a fairly light footprint on the game, although expect it to get larger in stature as time goes on.

Some of the more notable bits of content in the mod so far:
  • The Protector's Handgun and its damaged starting variant, as well as the Protector's Armor set.
  • USCM Remnant encounters, or more specifically a couple new microdungeons, a new dungeon, and an NPC ship encounter.
  • A mech recharging tool!
  • The reintroduction of Impervium, now an ore obtained from meteor microdungeons on magma planets.
  • On duty Peacekeepers who'll come in to aid friendly NPCs.
  • Many new lore codices found across vanilla villages and ship/space encounters.
  • And much more!

Future plans:
- Earth refugee ships
- Mission and Boss tweaks
- Virorbs
And much much more.

Known Incompatibilities:
- Any mods that overwrite the fossilgame.lua or destroyruin.lua files, nothing horrible will happen if another mod overwrites these files, it's just that the Grandmaster fossil brush will become useless and that you won't get any new radiomessages for the ruin.

@Big Wang you craft it at the mech crafting table, you know, where all the mech parts are crafted

I'm sorry, but, where is the mech recharging tool?

@Grug Gaming it is yeah, you can find it on lava planets within certain meteorite microdungeon encounters the islands have

where does someone find impervium? is that from this mod...?

@Lightningbird Exactly yeah! Starbound's an optimistic setting, not just for Humanity even!

@Armok ikr?? I think what you said is reflected clearly in the profile logo of this mod (i.e., the worn down Protectorate symbol smeared with a graffiti reading “USCM”). The real point of Starbound is to convey hope for humanity and all races across the universe in spite of the overwhelming darkness, and getting that point right is what makes this mod of yours unique and special.
Looking forward to restoring that hope with you soon!

@Lightningbird Ty! So many mods get aspects of canon lore like the Protectorate's nature as a faction annoying wrong, figured that the least I could do was offer a refreshingly canon-abiding expansion to them, however small it may be.

@Armok Thank you for the info. It is really encouraging to see another mod that reinforces the symbol of hope that is Terrene Protectorate :)

@Lighningbird also, this should be mostly safe to uninstall, it does add in some new microdungeons and a new dungeon, which while both using entirely vanilla objects and blocks, do feature modded npcs with custom dialogue. The npcs might just self-destruct if you uninstall the mod, but otherwise it should be significantly less problematic to uninstall than FU yeah

@Lightningbird oh uh, my mod isn't exactly a story expansion admittedly. More a lore expansion than anything with the new codices and whatnot it adds in. Mind you, I do have a side mission or two planned for the vanilla storyline (and there is new dialogue for the ark npcs) and I have had a bit of a post-ruin storyline planned for a bit too though.
