If you happen to have any issues with the game, you suspect something is bugged, or straight up want to know more about the game, feel free to join in on our official discord channel at https://discord.gg/NPNUawy.

However, before you contact us about your game issues, please do the following steps first. Reason for listing these steps is the fact that most of the reports we’ve gotten over the last year, were mostly fixed by following them, so to relieve our forum, and our official mail, of unnecessary traffic, make sure you’ve done them.
Verify the file integrity.
Open your steam library tab, and find your Starpoint Gemini Warlords title. Right click on it and select Properties. On the properties window, select the Local Files tab. There you will see the “Verify integrity of game files…” option. Click on it and let it do its business. Keep in mind that file verification will overwrite your configuration folder, so you’ll have to set up your personal settings again. We are sorry for that inconvenience, but that’s just how file verification works at this point, and there is nothing we can do about it right now.

Disable mods
As mods are mostly community created, they may sometimes interfere with the game native code, so before reporting your issue, try disabling all mods you use, and see if you can reproduce the bug. If the bug is mod related, we can’t help you.
Reproduce the issue
This should go without saying, but, please, before contacting us, or making a post on the forum, make sure that the bug isn’t a one-time thing, and you can reproduce it. If you can reproduce it, that means we will be able to reproduce it, and if we can reproduce it, then we can fix it. So please, when reporting a bug, be as detailed as possible about the context of the bug, situation it happened it, actions that were being performed while it occured, and such, so we can help you as fast as possible.

If you did all three steps and issue still persists, send us your Log.txt and LogError.txt files, located in your local games folder. To get to your local game folder, follow the same steps for verification of the files, but instead of “Verify integrity of game files…” select the “Browse local files…” option. That will then open a windows explorer window with your SPGW game files.





If the bug can be reproduced, please, along with the log files, send us a save file that you’ve reproduced the bug on. That way we’ll save a lot of time in locating the source of the issue. To get to your save files, open your local files folder like you did in the previous step, and open the Saves folder. There you can find all your save game files. The one we need is your .sgs file. If you can’t see the expansions, either set your View setting to show file extensions, or Set your overall View type on “Details”. That way you’ll be able to recognize the .sgs files.
