Tree Movement Control

Lets you control the movement of trees.

This mod provides a slider that lets you reduce or entirely stop the movement of tree assets in the wind.

It also includes the Random Tree Rotation functionality because it is handled by the same "function" in the game so you need to control both within the same mod.

Finally, there is a checkbox that lets you disable tree movement for far-away trees in an effort to improve FPS.

All options are available through the game's options menu.

This mod is possible thanks to saki7's discovery of the code that controls tree movement.

It is a standalone version of the tree movement feature included in his Shicho mod. If you use Shicho, you don't need this. This is for people who just want just this feature.

All credit goes to saki7 for this.

This mod uses the Cities Skylines Detour[] library by cope and the framework for it developed by Bloodypenguin.

Nice, I love how there is tree rotation with it. I didn't notice FPS difference, but I did notice less stuttering on my end.

crucial mod for less comic like cities. thank you for the mod!

late answer, but yes. random tree rotation kicks in while initialising a game. it will newly randomise all tree rotation at every game start, it will not save the roation.
as far as i know.
so you can switch out the mods

I'm currently using random tree rotation mod. If I subscribe to this and unsubscribe from tree rotation will my save be all good?

@Fronto you can check your wind in your map. Darker the area stronger the wind. Also building places around influences that so even on a hill tree which is placed between 2 buildings should not sway much. Wind simulation is relatively accurate in this game :D
Fronto May 27, 2018 @ 3:57am

I think that maybe because they were all swaying about too much all the time, I just assumed it was a dumb animation.

100s of hours in the game and I never noticed the altitude factor until I tweaked trees at ground level with your mod and then noticed the ones on a hill were moving more!

they sway based on wind, on top of hills wind is stronger so they sway more.
Fronto May 26, 2018 @ 10:48pm

Very nice. I wouldn't have thought I would like this as much as I do.

Question: Now I find myself looking at the swaying trees, I would swear that altitude is a factor. The ones on top of a hill seem to sway more than the ones much lower! Is this a thing, or have I had too much coffee?
