Description
Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge) 1944

German troops should capture the bridges of Malmedy / Stavelot.
The Allied troops did not expect a german attack over the difficult terrain of the ardennes with heavy war material.
Also the allied troops are only pioneers without any heavy weaponry or armory.

This map was made by Binary and me.
We were trying to get it as near to reality as possible.

Practice mode seems to be corrupted atm.
TO PLAY THIS MAP:
enable console in the settings
then type into console:
(play without bots)
map ardennes offensive
(casual with bots in offensive add ingame commands)
sv_cheats 1
doi_bot_quota 24

(play with bots) (axis side)
map ardennes stronghold

(play with bots) (allied side)
map ardennes entrenchment


NOTE FOR SERVER HOSTERS:
this map is pushing the limits of source engine.
SO some of you will get the problem perhaps of "engine hunk overflows"
this is a error we are aware since long time but it is not due to bad mapping work.
Its due to the pure size of this map causing a lightmap data overflow.

Add the parameter +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 to the server launch options.
This will also solve some other problems.

Still Fun after 5 allied strafe-runs including strafe thru ceiling...seems to get even crazier after bridge objective. Cat-and-mouse-it thru 2nd story houses, (how do you jump Out the window?) w/allied bots as mr nazi + flames... allied bots spawn right in front with insta-kill murmer-"a$$hoe" Those auto rounds sometimes seem to bounce of the helmet but hiding in the John? -priceless.

I am getting a Out of Memory Error with this map. I do not get it with any other map I have installed.

Thanks matey for your feedback ... You know, since the NWI livestream for custom maps to make money with their game full of bugs, and that toxic community, I really feel without power to finish that map. I think Modtools feels the same things. So sorry matey ..

all i get "server is full" when i try to connect via practise mode.
cant get up console in main menu, and map ardennes offensive doesnt work in cinsole when im in game where the console works.

Yeah ... it's a memory issue because of the server ... We had this issue and we fixed that with the following cvar :
r_hunkalloclightmaps 0
Add that in your script to start your server
