Wild Horses

I love horses and noticed, there were no wild horses on Skyrim like there were on Oblivion! So I added them. I added herds of horses big and small around Skyrim. I added stallions, mares, colts, and fillies. Yes you can ride them, but they just run away if you get off of them. I have made some wild horses that used to be domesticated and are used to humans. So you can ride those and they won't run away. :D

To make other horse mods work like Better Horses, change the load order. Set other horse mods to load AFTER Wild Horses.

If you don't know how, open Skyrim, click on Data Files, check Wild Horses, then check the other horse mods. :)

Update 6:

Wild horses finally move around! I figured out how to make the horses move around like normal horses would instead of standing there like statues.

Update 5:

I am currently making two seperate mods for the ponies and special horses. (nightmares, ghost horses, etc.) I have removed them from this mod in this update.

Update 4:

Hopefully made shadow horses non-aggressive.
Added a map marker for shadow horses/ponies. (you'll have to find them yourself though)

Update 3:

Removes saddles from shadow horses and ponies to make them look wild.
Makes shadow horses and ponies faster than wild horses. (Which is VERY fast)
Makes special places for shadow horses and ponies.

Update 2:

Ponies (rare!)
Shadow horses and ponies (Only four in existence) I'm not showing any pictures because they are special. ;)
Added herds in Falkreath Hold

Update 1:

Added herds in The Rift
Added geldings
Added formerly domesticated horses
Added fillies
Made stallions and geldings a little bigger than mares
Sped up wild horses alot

Horse Genders:

(Geldings are always formerly domesticated. Stallions and Geldings are a tiny bit bigger than mares.)

Herds added in:

Whiterun Hold
The Rift
Falkreath Hold

This mod has a wild edit that will override Unlimited Bookshelves and/or Unofficial Skyrim Patch . EditorID: ArmorBanditCuriass1 (0010564B) is deleted by this mod. If you use it with the Unofficial Skyrim Patch you'll need to fix this with TES5Edit.

Remember to rate, favorite, or mabye subscribe! :)

Check out my other mods too!

Dragon Nests:

Q: Do they respawn?

A: Yes.

Q: Are you going to add any more to this mod?

A: Sorry, but life is really getting in my way of modding nowadays. I don't have anytime to advance in any of my mods.

Q: How do you install this??

A: Just click the button that says 'subscribe'. The button is below the pictures above. :)

Read the FAQ before you post please. ;)

See these are the little mods that make Skyrim sooooooo much better. I always go for the little mods that just adjust minor things in the game. I never like mods that make your character OP and eventually strip the life out of the game. Thanks man, good work.

my followers attaked the herd and when im sneaking (legendary 100) they either runaway when im 50meters from them at night or Im right next too them and get no Mount action.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but it is kind of annoying to me. When I downloaded this, at the time I hadn't bought a horse so I chased down a wild horse and mounted it. The wild horses are seen as hostile. I was riding by on that horse and it kept getting attacked by guards and dogs (I have a mod for more dogs), and when I dismounted (with no other hostile creatures around) it played the battle music

The glitches I encountered (see below for more information of what I'm talking about):

If Hadvar interferes at just the right time, he can actually be killed. His horse flies off into the air and comes back down, minus Hadvar (who is apparently abducted by aliens, as he never comes back from this trip into the sky). Then the game will stall and go no further when Hadvar is supposed to speak to you.

The next thing that can happen is that the Dragonborn's cart can get stuck in the trees when Hadvar's mount forces it off the path.

A couple of times, the cart did manage to make it to the gates, but my cart sat waiting eternally for someone to notice that the all-important prisoners were not present cause the doors were closed. :p

First, I just want to say that I really love this mod! Beautiful and great fun!

That being said, I'd like to point out a problem that I found. :( When starting a new game, Hadvar's horse is too fast, as is General Tullius' horse. What happens is that Hadvar interferes badly with the Dragonborn's cart, which results in a number of variable glitches. Some of these glitches, unfortunately, result in being unable to proceed with the game. I'll post a second post for the specific glitches, this one's too long.

It would help a lot to, at minimum, have a note to not have the mod operative while creating a new game. I found searching for the cause to be immensely frustrating to the point of near tears.

Thank you for listening, and again, I do absolutely adore the mod otherwise, and I want to repeat firmly how grateful I am for it.

Thanks for your hard work and the wonderful mod!!

Do you have this mod listed on Nexus [] ? Is Wild Horses for Skyrim [] your mod or is it a different wild horse mod by someone else? If you don't have it uploaded to Nexus [] , could you please do that?

I'm using this so I don't have to butcher the horses at the stables

I really enjoy this mod. I added it late game and have found no bugs/issues. I already have faster vanilla horses mod and it doesnt conflict with this at all - which is great! I love that the wild horses are super fast. It also works with the follower can ride horses mod and can become one of your 6 'owned' horses if you are using the ultimate follower mod. all in all thumbs up! :)

This is cool mod that helps add to the immersion of Skyrim, but introduces a bug into the beginning because it makes the horses of General Tullius and Hadvar move faster than they are supposed to and eventually causing the two carriages to turn and either get stuck on a rock or tree or do flips and spins until they get to the gate which usually close before they can get through them (it's slightly different every time) so unless you want to laugh or play roulette to try and get through the gates turn this mod on after you create your character or leave helgen
