Dynamic View Distance

Description
Dynamic View Distance uses the player's altitude and custom settings to determine terrain view distance. Allowing for a seamless transition from default view distance at ground level to the entire map at high altitudes.

This mod has no affect on performance at ground level but as you might expect, performance decreases with altitude over the Dynamic View Distance starting altitude (default 500m). Users can cap the view distance and max altitude to counter this but view distance cannot increase in arma without decreasing framerate. Please only use this mod if you can afford or are prepared to lose performance at high altitudes in order to enjoy the spectacular view.

Dynamic View Distance is also compatible with CH View Distance.

Is this mod map dependent? I try this on south asia map at 10.000m and still I cant see further than 25km :/

the mod is completly clientside (clients will require a copy downloaded). however it does use the standard mod settings menu so you should be able to have the server force settings on people.

This looks great. How does this sync over in MP? For example, do all players get the same values when on the ground or in the air? Really tempted to add this to our server, but want to make sure everyone is uniform beforehand, as we're relying on a fixed 3500 view distance on our server.

Use n MP and it works fine. maybe the mission file has MP graphical limiters that are overriding the mod. would also say check server settings but as your the owner im guessing you did that already. (check the mission file in editor, Multiplayer settings i do belive has the limiters)

been using your mod for awhile and love it but got a suggestion. can you tweak the in game options menu fo rthe mod to give us more control? such as max view capping out at armas 120km cap not your 50km? max altatude alll the way down to 1km from the current 5? Read in comments some people want more max settings aswell.

bit more complicated but 2 other ideas: 'disable grass in vehicle' button (although i guess theres another mod that does that), and moreso, a tickbox for 'base view distance off radar alt or true altatude (sea level or nearest terrain).

I've done a quick multiplayer test via the editor and it seems to be working. Not sure what to suggest. Do any other view distance mods, like CHVD, work for you?

Hey Lawrence, thx for the quick response. Yea, I know that it must be something else, because I am the server owner myself and the key has been installed as well. But I also figured out that if you create an mp mission in the editor and try it in multiplayer the mod automatically stops working.

Hey Presa, it could be that the server you're connected to hasn't installed the key for Dynamic View Distance. If not, you will have to ask the server owner to install the key. Please let me know if you think it could be something else.

Hey, I really enjoy this mod but I got a question: It seems like the mod is not working in multiplayer scenarios; at least for me. Is this a known issue or did I miss some settings?
