First 500 levels
You need 3 Theives 2 Healers, it dosen't matter what armor you put on them, as long as it's good or if it gives you better items/gold. When/if you check your computer, try to stop auto on a boss and steal from them. This will get you gold faster. Every time you get a lot of money either save it up or spend it on essence. Because you get more money per run no matter what relic you uphrade because you go further, but if you're really looking for gold then upgrade Liquid Gold.
501-1000
This calls for 1 Darkmage, 1 Knight, 1 Theif, and 2 Healers in that order. The Darkmage is for damage, the Knight defends your allies and makes it so you can't get trappedor ambushed, the Theif is there for the extra essence/gold (It also opens all chests), and the Healers are of course there to heal your team.
1,000-9,999
Until you have Shifters, you need 3 Darkmages, a Theif, and a Knight or if you are higher up, you need 4 Darkmages and a Knight. I used the 2nd setup and had my money-making gear, started at level 1 and ran this setup for 8 hours and look how much money and how far it got me:
10,000+
Around this point is when I first got Shifters. Its fine is you haven't yet, but this setup has only Shifters, so if you haven' t got them yet then run my 1,000-9,999 setup. If you want to do good use the followiing the setup: Start at level 1 and have Ragezerker/Knight, Darkmage/Thief, Darkmage/Thief, Darkmage/Thief , and Darkmage/Knight. I found this setup helpful because the theif lets you land critical hits more often and opens all chests. The Knight prevents traps, protects teamates, and provents ambushes (I put 2 just in case one of them dies), the Ragezerker boosts attack, and the Dakmage is there to clean house. I ran this setup and got a really really good run:
Merchants and Demon Horns
I never use Merchants because they are only useful in very, very specific situations. What's better? Noxin that does really good damage and can poison/confuse, and Necroblast wich does massive damage all of the time. Or 50/50 and Affluence that both use money and are worse versions than Noxin, and Necroblast. And with Demon Horns, blue slime is better than them and that is just sad because it is way easier to get than Demon Horns. They don't lower your attack/health, but they don't lower any stats, wich could be the difference between life and death. Even Dragon Blood is better, it's stats are: 5 HP per turn, 15% increase to physical attacks and +20 to base stats. The Demon Horn is -6 to attack and health, but +26 to mana. if you average out the stats (not including the 15% increase to physical attack and HP regeneration) you get: Demon Horn: 4 ⅙ while Dragon Blood is 20. On top of that, a Wishbone gives you 100 mana (almost 5 times as much as Demon Horns), +10 mana regeneration per turn, and +20% magic crit chance. All in all, the Demon Horns sucks.
Shifters
These (like the soda discription hints) are kind of like all of the patrons put together. Because you can have two of any patron's abilities simontainiously. Shifters have Stones for each patron, and that Stone's level goes up every time you go up an X amount of times in any dungeon, with that specific patron. For example: If you grinded with a Healer, the Healer Stone's level will go up. Once a Stone reaches a certian level can get all the abilities of that patron.
Farming for Mystic Caps
Caps are the hardest to get currency in-game because each one is 1.5 Billion gold! But I think I have found a good strategey to get them. First you need to grind to find at least 5 Royal Sheilds (Candyshells will work better), 5 Midas Armor, 5 Sacrosact (Charity Bells will work too but, Marvelous Claws will work best), 10 Vann's Magnets, upgrade Liquid Gold a crap-ton and have Jenny as a pet (the money making giraffe). You also need to have 1 Healer, 3 Darkmages, and 1 Knight in that order or if you are higher up you need a Ragezerker, 2 Darkmages, a Knight, and a Theif in that order. Or if you already have Shifters with decent stones you need to run what I told you to run but with stones in this order: Ragezerker/Knight, Darkmage/Theif, Darkmage/Theif, Darkmage/Theif, Darkmage/Knight. Once you have something like this, before you go to bed, school, or do anything that takes a while, warp to level 1, put it on auto and make trillions like I did with that setup.

What area are those items in that reduce mp to 1? I'm not finding any in my past few dungeons.

That was very helpful. I didn't know the lair was so important for looting.
