Theme / Background (for those interested):

Set in 2025, the railway has successfully opened up services to the public, operating a variety of heritage rolling stock and extending services to Whatley Quarry.

Beginning work in 2018, the line has been cleared of vegetation and track made operational between Flowers Farm and Radstock. A connection to Network Rail metals was achieved at Hapsford Junction allowing select services to be extended to Frome Market.

The railway owns class 117 and 121 1st Gen DMUs; being equiped with AWS these are permitted across the full length of the line, from Radstock to Frome Market. All NSR-Owned stock is based at Mells Road Depot.

Other rolling stock is hired in for the summer timetable, including various diesel and steam locomotives. These form services from Radstock to Flowers Farm, utilising the run-around loops at either station. This stock is based at Radstock's new locomotive shed.

Services overtake at Mells Road; on a usual day operating one of the NSR's DMUs and one hired-in locomotive with either a dead DMU or some hired-in carriages. This forms a 30-minute frequent service across the line.

Electrified versions are available elsewhere on the workshop, although not with the modifications specific to this version made by me. I don't intend to modify this route anymore especially as there are now superior versions available elsewhere.

@grahamritchie800 You may find that the North Somerset Railway available from Golden Age Developments suits your needs quite well.

@brooks06 Electrified versions of the North Somerset can be found here. There's an OHLE and 3rd rail version that can be found on the Workshop.

Heya mate! I really enjoy this route,I was wondering if you would maybe be able to work on an electrified version of it (OHLE to be specific) at some point?

For personal use yes, however since there's already quite a few versions of the North Somerset line out there it might not be in the communities' best interest to have several versions of the same thing with relatively minor changes if you intend to publish it to the workshop or a 3rd party site.

Dear AirbourneAlex can I clone this route and rebuild sections to have more sidings and sections of double track and a narrow gauge railway in the Quay?

i run 1 round trip a day on the main section (Frome-Radstock) But in my imaginings the Whatley Quarry line is going to be limited to 12 days a year after a rail authority/quarry operator inspection due to lack of Signals coming onto network rail track at hapsford junction in the Frome direction.

In my QD's I make out that the NSR own a Thumper (205028), Northern Pacer (142047) alongside the 117.

That's handy to know. Thank you!

Haha I've had the same problem also. All my routes are final (I like to get them finished before moving onto another project!) and you can tell by the tag 'final' instead of 'work in progress' on the top right of the page under the thumbnail.
