How to be a good game designer
Your plane suddenly crashed into an island you cant find any survivors you need to survive, to hunt, to win the fight against death...

Total Disaster is a game in its early stages of development it uses CryENGINE and will be a free-2-play game by Witty Game Studios. It will be a permadeath survival simulator where you must hunt, eat, craft, drink and survive this savage island. It stays true to real life with no hud, music or any normal video game things you must eat and drink by listening to your rumbling stomach and must boil water to purify it.You must find (or make) shelter and tools. write down your discoveries or draw a map in real life. but you must be on your toes the constant roaring and growls tell you that your not the only living thing on the island...

Great attitude man! I'm sorry if my comment came accross as being rough, but I just wanted to make people aware that free engines aren't always bad :) Anyways, good luck again on the project and hopefully you'll make alot of money xD

thanks for the advice I prefer having advice and having people suggest ideas over praise anyday it makes the game way better

Hey buddy,

Sounds like you've got a nice idea, but it also sounds like you're "all talk". The reason I say this is because you say you are a game designer and you use other "technical" programs. You say Unity and GameMaker use "no/lite coding", yet both have their own languages (G.M.L & UnityScript (practically JavaScript with its own added libraries) ). Unity also supports C# and Boo (A Python variation). So before you say you use more "technical" programs than some of the greatest free game engines, you should atleast read up on them.

I'm not trying to rant or burst any bubbles, but I'm tired of people who say they are going to produce this amazing idea, yet at the same time they pass around incorrect information on great free game making software and discourage others from making their dream because "Gamemaker is for kids" or "Unity doesn't use code".

Just read around and learn the facts then post, but good luck on your project man, and keep on coming up with ideas!

Yes USA, but I am awake at night... My computer is all new stuff nothing older then 1 year... AMD FX-8350 8 core 4GHz (Overclocked to 5GHz on water cooling), 32GB 1866 RAM, and my 7870 Radeon HD GHz edition, Black edition Overclocked XFX (going to add a 2nd one I think since the 7980 is way too hot and loud for me) got a OCZ agility 128GB SSD (times two in RAID 0) I put the game (games) Im playing ATM on that drive if they need to load a lot but most of my games are on one of my 3TB drives I got 2 of them for games, media, and Torrents... I picked AMD because 1. Im a fanboy, and 2. BOTH the New XboX and PlayStation will have the AMD 8 core chip so games will be optimized of 8 core and people with Intel will be playing catch up... (Speed is not everything anymore)... I have so many games, but I keep downloading them cuz I want to see how they run... or I download old ones to have a little nostalgia....
