Description
Star Trek 50th Ann Collection Blueprint no. 8 of 50

I have created this blueprint in high detail as much as possible, using my Star Trek DS9 AMT fiber optic model (pulled from my Star Trek model collection) as a guide. There is some minor design changes that I had to make to the blueprint to keep the piece as game realistic as possible while still maintaining the overall design of the station. The biggest chanllege I had was that fact that main station frame and outer ring took up the majority amount of building piece count allowing very little room for extra window lighting (as the outer ring makes up for a count of over 3000 pieces in itself). This is a 4K blueprint and requires the Adventure dlc.

Updated Feb 25: Tweaked the inner ring so that the ring appears with cleaner design lines and curves. The tweak also allowed more window lighting to be displayed all the way around the inner ring the way it is supposed to be. New screenshots added.

About Deep Space 9 -

The Cardassians built "Terek Nor" in 2351 as a mining station orbiting Bajor, and abandonned it 18 years later when the planet regained it's freedom. At the request of the new government, Starfleet assumed control - renamed the station "Deep Space 9" and assigned the relatively low-ranking Commander Benjamin Sisko™ to run it. Little did anyone know that this rough, frontier outpost in a backwater system would assume great commercial, scientific and strategic importance shortly thereafter when the Bajorian wormhole, linking the Alpha and Gamma Quadrants, was discovered nearby.

Deep Space Nine broke new ground for the Star Trek franchise, and not just because it was the first show not set on a travelling starship. The show endeavored to present a more realistic, less-rosy view of the future than the preceding series and movies. As a result, fans did not immediately take to it, many complaining that the new show had turned traitor to Roddenberry's ideals. Somewhere along the line, however, DS9 found it's footing. By the end of it's seven year run it was considered by many to be the best of franchise. The station was designed by Rick Sternbach and Hermann Zimmerman with the model built by Tony Meininger.
