Balanced Hattori unit overhaul
The Mighty Hattori Ninja Clan is now actually a Ninja Clan with all the love that CA never gave them.
Basically more BANG for your buck spent on the Hattori lackluster DLC.
Lead by the Hattori family which now marches to the fields in their Demonic ninja armours.
Changes appearence of all Hattori specialist units to that of the Kisho ninja with a captain shining a Gilded demon mask.
Hattori Ashigaru remain the same except they get a Kisho Ninja captain.
Hattori clan traits have been altered a wee bit, Hattori now have a 5% increase in ninja success and a diplomatic bonus with other factions (+5), after all, when you rent out ninjas to other daimyos you're bound to earn a favor or discover a secret from the buyer when he isn't looking.
Hattori units are now a ninja versions of RONIN units

Hattori units are now interesting and unique like those of the Ikko Ikki clan. Ronin

How is this mod balanced? I will sho u dawae!
I made all Hattori specialist units compareable to those of the Ikko ikki Ronin units statwise, but they get extra ninja abilities:

Balancing example:
    Yari Ronin
  • Melee attack: 8
  • Melee defence: 10
  • Total melee points = 18
    Hattori Yari Samurai
  • Melee attack: 9
  • Melee Defence: 8
  • Hattori kisho training
  • Total melee points = 17

  • Hattori Katana Samurai: Added Golden Demon captain, Ninja reskin, cost raised, upkeep raised, better hiding, ninja wall climb, removed standard bearer, removed Sashimono. Extra katana folds
  • Hattori Naginata Samurai: Added Golden Demon captain, Ninja reskin, cost raised, upkeep raised, better hiding, ninja wall climb, removed standard bearer, removed Sashimono. Added ninja magic
  • Hattori No-Dachi Samurai: Added Golden Demon captain, Ninja reskin, cost raised, upkeep raised, better hiding, ninja wall climb, removed standard bearer, removed Sashimono. Aquired more stolen giant swords.
  • Hattori Yari Samurai: Added Golden Demon captain, Ninja reskin, cost raised, upkeep raised, better hiding, ninja wall climb, removed standard bearer, removed Sashimono. Added "Red'uns go FASTAH!"
  • Hattori Yumi Samurai: Added Golden Demon captain, Ninja reskin, nice bows added, cost raised, upkeep raised, better hiding, ninja wall climb, removed standard bearer, *stalk ability, removed Sashimono. added Sneaky shoes
  • Hattori Matchlock Samurai: Removed does anyone use these?, added Hattori Marksman ninja

    Ashigaru Units
  • Hattori Matchlock Ashigaru: Added Ninja captain, lowered upkeep by a wee bit, removed standard bearer. Scopes added
  • Hattori Yumi Ashigaru: Added Ninja captain, cost and upkeep raised considerably, removed standard bearer. Lock on system added
  • Hattori Yari Ashigaru: Added Ninja captain, cost raised, upkeep lowered, removed standard bearer. Extra stealthy paint added

    Special Units
  • Hattori Family Daimyo: Turned into a demon ninja Stolen max rank ninja agent skin.
  • Hattori Kisho ninja: Added Golden Demon captain, fear effect. Dyed moms bedsheets black
  • Hanzo's Shadows: Renamed: Shadows. Hattori version is cheaper
  • Hattori Bandits: Removed was extremely ugly anyway, added Hattori Yumi Ninja.

    New Units
    The real meat of this mod
  • Hattori Demons: Hero unit, recruitment cap: 1, Warcry, stealth, blinding grenades, stalk, snipe, fear effect, bulletproof.
    Demons are to shadows what shadows are to Kisho, the elite red guard of the Hattori family, A true nightmare on the battlefield.
  • Hattori Yumi Ninja: Ninja Archer unit, stalk ability, *sniper ability.
    The best hunter is the one you never see, these have mastered that art.
  • Hattori Marksman Ninja: Matchlock Ninja, stalk ability, *sniper ability.
    These ninjas excell in defensive sieges, but they are outright deadly in offenisve sieges, these are not frontline soldiers, they take their time to lure the prey and to line up the shot.
    (They perform extremely well against armored foes.)

    *Wat dis?
  • Stalk: Remains hidden while sliperi snaek aka walking.
  • Snipe: Remains hidden while dakka aka firing.
  • Fear: Reduces WAAAGHH! aka moral of nearby enemt units.

I am currently troubleshooting a Hattori mod that I am working on and have run into a wall that you seem to have figured a way around: how did you add a clan trait to the Hattori, i.e. the diplomacy perk? I am trying to reduce the action cost of ninjas for the hattori, specifically the amount of money needed for a mission. I figured I could model it off of the Otomo which get a similar perk for missionaries but my efforts just make the game crash. How did you make this work? Cheers.

hey man, hattori ashigara units already get increased upkeep. i don't think you're helping them by increasing it even more.

Eh, Hattory not worthless in vanila since all their soldiers can craw walls effectively, and they have better deployement options on start of battle.
