Functional Swivel Targets

This mod basically fixes the broken swivel targets (in dedicated MP) and optimizes them for MP usage.

For those who prefer non-modded: you can actually get them to work (but without the optimization) using scripts.

_target setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", false];
Execute above on each target for clients.
It will force the client-side scripts to exit and thus only the server will manage them.

Fixed classes:
  • Target_Swivel_01_ground_F
  • Land_Target_Swivel_01_F

Both tests are 1200 swivel targets on vanilla Altis.

I correct myself "BIS_exitScript" must be set to true, not to false.
Solution: swivelTarget_0 setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", true];

Hi, I'm trying to use your script, but it doesn't work for me:
what I do is put in the initPlayerLocal.sqf
swivelTarget_0 setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", false];
swivelTarget_1 setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", false];

but it still doesn't work properly. am I doing it right?

Hi there, what is the script line to add to the swivel targets so they work on MP with your mod pretty please, i have tried, if (!isServer) then { this setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", false]; };

If you use this mod, no actions are needed.
If not, re-perform the steps as described above.

Hi, I just recently tried to use this in a mission for a dedicated host.
I put the line of code in each targets init, but it dod not work. After that I decided to shift it to init via this:
if (!isDedicated) then {
_localTargets = (entities "Target_Swivel_01_ground_F") + (entities "Land_Target_Swivel_01_F");
_x setVariable ["BIS_exitScript", false];
} forEach _localTargets;
But its still not working. Any clue why?

I think I love you. I submitted this bug report to BIS years ago. Finally we have a fix!
