Fatal Bonds mana cost increased from 120 to 140
Fixed Fatal Bonds continuing to do damage to you after the buff was dispelled

Level 10: +6 All Stats OR +15% XP Gain
Level 15: +125 Cast Range OR +20 Movement Speed
Level 20: +350 Health OR -30s Respawn Time
Level 25: Spell Immunity for Chaotic Offering Golems OR +15 Chaotic Offering Golems Armor

Skillbuild swapped to the more teamfight-oriented build to reflect the patch, item timings adjusted according to new influx of gold. Starting items changed due to over-time regeneration not being broken by creeps. Talent tree recommendations added.

Golems can no longer be destroyed by Purge. GO PUNCH EVERYTHING WITH IMPUNITY
No changes to skillbuild.
No changes to items outside of the fact that everything is slightly cheaper now.

Urn of Shadows can definitely be a good addition if no one else is picking it up and someone is already making a Mekansm (I find both to be a bit redundant). The DoT isn't resisted by magic resistance and is surprisingly powerful which lets you stack some really strong DoT that's easy to underestimate, as you mention. The reason I didn't include it by default is because Urn users usually roam/gank to make the most of it, two things Warlock is terrible at. I tend to view Warlock as a more teamfight oriented hero so I maximize auras and survivability to make the most out of your presence near your allies.

What about Urn of Shadows as a alternative to ring of Basilius? The heal/damage also has nice synergy with Shadow Word, even more so with a Mekanism.

You're completely correct Phalanx. The Fatal Bonds first build is better back when Golem drop did damage or with a lane partner that does substantial AoE damage (e.g. tri with KOTL or duo with Centaur, etc) but since this guide is aimed more towards beginners, the standard skill build should reflect that. I was planning on updating the guide (Valve made it pretty tedious to do that in published guides in my opinion) after finals this week. Professional programs (pharmacy) tend to suck the motivation and joy out of life during these times. Thanks for the feedback!

Lately been going two levels of Upheaval at 2 and 4 to great effect. Fatal Bonds is better for teamfights and the early Upheaval have saved my carries several times. It will also ensure that at level 6 your Golem will deal his damage. Might be worth looking into Upheaval some more.
