Ethereal Summons

Ethereal Summons

This mod will allow you to possess dead bodies with random followers from the "Ethereal Plane"

1. How does it work (In-game)?
2. How does it work (Behind the scenes)?
3. Where can I find it?
4. Why I made this?
5. What if I find something wrong?
6. What if I have a suggestion?
7. Potential Updates.

1. How does it work?
In Game: The spell "Ethereal Summons" allow the player to replace any dead body laying around with an random summons to assist you. There are three dirrerant Followers you can obtain and no limit as to how many you can summon. The current three types are:

Mount: This horse will get you to where ever you need to go. Perfect for bringing a horse into town or even in a dungeon. Mount has no duration

Fighter: This lady can hold her own and then some. Primarily a melee fighter, three of her allows you to sit back and enjoy the battle. Fighter will last for 5 minutes

Merchant: Pretty easy to kill and weak, the merchant is he to help you with your burdens. And he's always happy to see you! Merchant will last for 1 minute

To summon someone: shoot a dead body with the Ethereal Summons Spell, which will instantly summon a new follower. Don't like you you got, or maybe you already have 5 horses; Just hit them with whatever you got and they will release the dead body for you to use again.

2. How does it work (Behind the scenes)?
Because I've never modded before, I thought I'd share my finding. I ended up creating three actors (prefix: DCA) that are unique. Then I added the MGghostability to thier spell list (which makes them look "Ethereal...") and added a new package based from the FollowerPackageTemplate (which allows them to follow you). I based my spell off of dunTransmogrifyAnimal scripts with some adjustments like importing Utility so I could use the int funtion (RandomInt(*from*,*to*)) which makes them appear randomly (which I used to base off of dead body gender). Place a new book in the Whiterun Breeze home and tada! Using a regular conjuration spell doesn't let you interact with the merchant and you can only have a number out based on you conjuration perks so I didn't like that route.

3. Where can I find it?
The spell tome is located under the staircase in the breezehome in Whiterun (the one you purchase). Just learn it and start playing.

4. Why I made this?
I like to play off the beaten path and my follower always got lost or I would worry about if they died or not (Because they had my stuff). The same goes for the horse and I wanted a solution where I wouldn't have to worry. So you can always get a follower where ever you are, you can always ride a mount (which is .7 scaled and adorable). I added the merchant because I want to sell the items I find in the game and not just dump them so the merchant will buy all of your extra goods. He always starts with plenty of money so no worries there. And I mean come on, you know magic... so this ability to summon people to you should be feasible.

5. What if I find something wrong?
Make a comment. I know of some current bugs but I will always accept help and feedback.

6. What if I have a suggestion?
Again, make a comment. If you find that that is not working, you could try friending me through Steam and talking to me that way.

7. Potential Updates
- I can't decide if I should make the horse invincible or not... what do you think?
- A weighted random outcome that will set frequency = Mount < Merchant > Fighter.

Does this replace the dead bodies npcs will summon? It would be great if it did. That "UHHHHH" zombie sound makes me spin around and kill the thing as soon as I can. As a request, is there any chance this could be made to summon ethereal children? I love having children around but to make some other mods work children are now killable. It would be nice to have one around I don't feel paranoid to guard. Thanks!

How about No-limit summoning?

Opinions Anyone?

But you can't ride yourself or sell yourself items... could be an additional summons or a new mod. Nice thinking

How about a summon self spell, where you summon copies of yourself with all spells and gear that you have. You would need a unique AI, and you can summon any number of yourself you wish. You could balance it by giving you all a shared health, magicka, and stamina. If one gets hit, casts a spell, or uses stamina, you all suffer, or each has a split of your maximum health, magicka and stamina.

Another idea is a mirror spell that summons the target to fight himself. When one dies they both die.
