Voice Chat Fixes Guide
By Enough Nut です
This thread is for people who have problems with voice chat not working. I am posting every fix out there including the very specific one that fixed it for me.
The Voice Chat Issue
Alright, so in this thread I'll be attempting to answer your problems with voice chat. The voice chat in this game clearly does not work for many people. For me and for others, the voice chat is not a problem with the game, but the voice software known as "Vivox".

After much discussion from Vivox and myself, we finally solved it for me. I am not sure if my fix will help you, but it is something that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere and may be what many of you are looking for. I will also post any and all fixes I've found or thought up just to provide a guide for future onlookers to come and gamble on a fix.

If anyone has another fix that they've found, please tell me in great detail so I can add it here.
1. The Fix For Me (DNS/Router issue)
Alright, so I'm going to explain my fix first as chances are, any of you looking here have tried the more generic fixes known.

Step 1: Access your router software

First you need to access your router - and no, I don't mean physically. This can be achieved through a special site associated with your router or by a quick few keywords in the URL bar on your web browser.

Here is a guide for doing this :

Step 2: Find your DCHP Server tab in your router

This can be kind of difficult to find. For those with linksys routers, it should be under Connectivity and then under Local Network This process should be similar for most routers.

You'll know you are on the right screen if you see "Static DNS" or "DNS"

Step 3: Change "Static Dns" to and

For this step we are going to go here:

Here, change your static DNS from whatever it is to and . Be sure to save your previous config just in case something happens.

Why did we do this? These are the default google ports. If you experience a lot of sites that won't load then this is also a fix for that.

This is what fixed it for me, but while we are here, let's do the 2nd fix.
2. Disable SIP ALG
Alright, so this is a pretty short fix that I can't really elaborate on too much since I didn't need to do it. This might be a problem for a lot of people, so we need to disable SIP ALG.

SIP ALG may or may not be in a person's router settings.

Step 1: Disable it
Here is a guide for finding SIP ALG:

If you can not find SIP ALG in your router, then proceed to the optional step 2. If you did, or don't have to as it is already disabled, proceed to the next fix if the other one didn't work for you.

Step 2: Install SIP ALG detector

The wonderful people at vivox gave me this tool to detect SIP ALG as I could not find it. I guarantee you the file is save as I installed it and ran the software. This tool simply detects sip alg and alerts you if it is enabled or not. I do not know if it does anything if it is enabled, but if it is then it's up to you to find a way to disable it.

The tool

My results:

3. Forward Ports
This one may or may not work for you as this is simply off of the Ubisoft Guide to get voice chat working for their games (uses vivox). I recommend attempting to forward ports. Thankfully, they have a guide so I'll just copy and paste it here.

Using this, go ahead and port forward the following ports :

- TCP: 80, 443
- UDP: 3478-3479, 6250, 12000-64000

Relatively simple with this. I had to do the same thing for super smah bros on the 3ds, except it was to actually play the game. Same thing applies to voice chat.
4. Disable firewall (then allow the game to pass through)
There is an easy way to this, and an even easier way. The best way is to simply disable firewall completely and play the game. If you can hear voices then, then allow access through public/private/domain in your firewall. If you can't, then just leave your firewall on and continue on.

Step 1: Access your firewall.

This goes for Windows firewall. If you have a different one, then look up how to do this for that firewall.

1. Open up the start menu on the bottom left.
2. Click on settings.
3. Type in "firewall"
4. Click on "Windows Defender Firewall"
5. Look to see "Disable Windows Firewall"
6. Play PUBG

If voice doesn't work, be sure to turn your firewall back on!

If voice does work, then follow these instructions:

7. Go back to the firewall settings.
8. Click on "Allow program through firewall"
9. Scroll down to PUBG and allow it through your firewall.
5. Disable Sound Devices, Make Default, Other Sound Properties.
This will probably be the big one, and be the one that solves it for most of you.

Step 1: Go to your sound devices

Right click the speaker icon in the bottrom right. Click on "Playback Devices"

Step 2: Fix it

Go to the device you are currently using. Click on it, and make sure it's default.
While you are there, go to every other device and completely disable them. (Unless you need them)

Right click on your device and go to properties > advanced. Make sure it is set to DVD Quality.

Step 3: Fix your mic

Just like before, make your mic default and completely disable other devices.

Step 4: Go to Device Manager[/b[
Just in case, we are going to go to device manager to make sure we disabled everything completely.

1. Go to start
2. Click settings
3. Type in Device Manager
4. Click it
5. When there, click "Audio inputs and outputs"
6. Disable all devices/files not your default device.
7. Go down to Sound, video and game controllers.
8. Disable all devices not your default audio controller. (Verify you don't disable anything that breaks your sound. If it does, just reenable it)

Go and play a match of pubg, verify if voice is working. (And your sound/mic too!)

Other Fixes that are on you
The rest of these are either really simple or very "you". Therefore, I'm just going to list them and you can just find what you need to do.

1. Reinstall audio drivers. This means if you have realtek hd audio, reinstall it. If you have anything else, reinstall it.

2. Update/Reinstall headphone/mic drivers.

3. Disable software that may interfere with the mic/headphone. I read discord can affect it.

4.Delete Vivox Files from Pubg (or other game) and then verify the integrity of the game files.

5. Make sure your mic and headphone is set as default in steam and in any other game.

6. Try moving the files to your default boot drive (doubtful it will do anything, but who knows)

7. Verify your country. If you are in syria or something vivox is blocked, so don't live in syria.
That's all from me
I hope this guide helped many of you out. I primarily wanted to just post the first fix to get the word out, but I decided to make it a little bit more, since so many are suffering from this problem.

If this works (especially the first fix) please PLEASE let me know it worked for you.

If none of these fixes worked, then make sure you look in the comments for people who figured out something else. Keep google open as well. Good luck to all of you.

None of these fixed it for me unfortunately but using a vpn fixes it for some reason. (I live in the US so vivox isn't blocked)

My mic works in steam voice chat, which is supposed to be used ingame too, but both in pubg and csgo all people hear is a static white noise. Everywhere else works fine. After uninstalling audio drivers, it worked for a while okay (not well like it used to), but mid game it got worse and worse until the point where only the white noise could be heard, idk what could cause this and steam support isnt very helpful either. do you have any idea? best regards nwu

Thanks for posting this. Disabling SIP ALG fixed my issue. I could use my microphone in Windows, but not in-game. I have a MicroTik router, and I had to go into the Winbox application and run a command to disable the SIP service ports, and I disabled H323 upon recommendation from another forum that had information about disabling SIP ALG.

If anyone else has this issue with a MicroTik router, here are the terminal commands to disable it:

/ip firewall service-port disable sip

/ip firewall service-port disable h323
