After reading this post on reddit, I dived into the game to check.
The seams are there, and really showing, so here is a mod to correct this.

This mod correct 4 faulty textures done by PDX:
- (misaligned)
It also correct these bugs :
- weird poles of mars
- rings textures beahaving weirdly, restoring animated clouds and replacing the continental texture by the gaia one.
- cubemap_filtered_ldr textures that are reflected in the oceans and the edge of the black holes (mainly), the texture is completely corrupted, I replaced by a very dark star background.

The mod is completely save game compatible, you can activate/deactivate the mod without any impact.

This mod, should NOT conflict with ANY other mod.
Ironman compatible
Achievment compatible.

If you notice another faulty texture, leave a message and I'll try my best to correct it.

    - Added gaia texture to FE ringworlds
  • 1.2:
    - Correction of corrupted cubemap texture resulting in disgusting lighting on oceans on the night side of planets
  • 1.1:
    - Correction of Mars poles
    - Correction of faulty ringworlds textures

the worldGFX was fixed by paradox so it is clear to delete it.

By the can simply delete the world-GFX folder in his ZIP-file then no changes to the ships and for the planets you can use his IG-planet that should have anyway fixed that issue on his planets. This mod brings then still the nice looking ringworld-segments and Mars-improvement.

Hello, I confirm the effect on the ships..seems that the shaders altered in this mod are used by the vanilla shipsets

im having the same black ship issue with those two shipsets, although it doesnt seem to actually impeed gameplay

Hey I found a bug with this mod, when it is activated the avian and fungoid ships and stations get super dark, but only for the hull part of the ships, not the glowy color based parts. I didn't noticed something similar for the other shipsets, but maybe there is as well.

Does this fix anything with the other mods that pretty up the planets or say if I use the 4k mod does that make this un-needed?

@shadowfyre301, it's supposed to be the star background used in the galactic view, but all details are lost when I downsized it on the screenshot, it's not pure black.
I'll experiment with it when I'll have time.

I'm not so sure that replacing the cubemap with a black one is the way to go with blackholes. I do agree that it needed replaced though. Maybe a seamless cloud texture would do well? Eitherway, I'm going to give this a whirl ^_^
