Better Starting Weapons

This mod is very simple. It adds a small chest to the caged area in the torture room in the tunnels of Helgen Keep, right at the beginning of the game. The weapons are Bite, Grind, and Rend. They are simply faster, lighter and more damaging versions of a steel sword, mace, and war axe respectively.

Experienced players will probably find them way too powerful for early gameplay, but I recommend this mod to brand new players, and those who struggle early in the game.

If you're new to the creation kit, you can download the mod by clicking the green subscribe button above. The mod will download the next time you load the skyrim launcher. This mod is only 3.73 kilobytes, so it should only take a few seconds to download.

Sorry. No spell tomes with this mod. But check out my mod "starter cache" for some mage items at the start of the game.

@How2Hate: Thanks! I'll do that for next mod which is up now.

@threadbear123: Custom arrows are not really something I like to do. I prefer to remain as immersive as possible with mods I use and create. Exploding arrows are a bit far-fetched, and soul-stealing arrows aren't far off. I would never make a mod like that, but it's not hard to do. You might enjoy making a mod of your own. Download the Creation Kit and give it a go! As for the two-handed sword, I'll add one in the other mod.

Also, add one of the regular weapons or a two handed sword for those barbarian types.

Yea, but maybe add like 5 special arrows that explode or steal their souls. SO that you can have some emergency stuff. And i am always ere for ideas. Just friend me.

Just add a Novice Robe of (Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration) then a Novice Hood, normally mages use Illusion/alteration as secondary magic so I don't see a big need in adding those robes. Should be fine with that. And as for the bow, a normal long bow, or imperial bow, or hunting bow and about 50 iron arrows. Good luck in your studies btw.

Hmmm... Seeing as I'm doing a games programming course at TAFE this year, I might as well get used to following the fan base. I'll get started on another mod, adding another chest in the room called prisoner's belongings. I'll add a bow, some arrows and some different mage robes. I rarely play as a mage, so give me some idea as to which of the novice robes are best.

Yea, nice job. Im personaly a ranger/mage except i still have some of my warrior stuff so this is pretty useless to me. Unless you want to stand and get beaten upon by dragur in Bleak Falls Barrow youned to add some magics.
