Don't make your assets too bright.
4 items
Rebalanced and customizable lighting and tonemapping.
Also includes 7 different LUTs.

Adjustments: brightness, gamma, contrast, overall temperature/tint, sun temperature/tint, sky temperature/tint, moon temperature/tint, moon light, twilight tint, sky tonemapping(side effect: reduced fog).

Read the description!
Any comments indicating you haven't done so will be ignored.

UPDATE (Apr 30, 2018)
Includes fix for shadow acne - dynamic shadow bias. (Thanks to saki7)
(Side effect - sometimes shadows look detached.)
updated again to add "force low shadow bias" setting which will fix the detached shadows but again introduce acne, really tired of fighting this game but you have to make a choice between detached shadows or shadow acne...

Added disable shadow smoothing toggle. (Thanks to TPB)

Hotkey: Shift + Alt + L

Balanced for global light 5.0 and ambient light 1.0 settings in ultimate eyecandy. (exactly middle of sliders)
Default can look dark, so just turn it up lol why do I need to explain that like 100 times.

Note that the map theme can affect the look of the lighting because it contains sky tint and rayleigh scattering.

Shadows must be set to max using Shadow Strength Adjuster otherwise it will look like the sun is leaking through objects. If you want to reduce shadow strength, use ultimate eyecandy to reduce global light intensity and increase ambient light intensity, this is the proper way to make shadows less visible.

Definite conflict: (DISABLE/UNSUBSCRIBE)
Softer Shadows

Potential problems: (CHECK SETTINGS)
Daylight Classic (classic sunlight color/intensity and classic fog color must be disabled)

LUTs setting is useless because who would use vanilla LUTs anyway.
Color is useless as it will be overridden by Relight.
Intensity and position is useless because you can set that using Eyecandy.
Classic fog effect is for cubemap replacer. (may need older daylight classic version)
Classic fog color does some weird stuff idk.

Thank you to:
Simon Royer for the UI / saving and preset system, help with raycasting for shadow bias formula
saki7 (sksk) for showing how to change shadow bias
TPB for showing how to disable shadow smoothing

Settings of Mods for Light and Color

For me the Sicho mod (needed for other things like tree movement) does the same as Shadow Strength Adjuster if you set it to max.

@asaphx: I have this and Real Time, and this mod affects the view, so it probably works. You only have to be aware that Real Time Mod is not fully compatible with Ultimate Eye Candy, meaning that the settings of UEC are at strange default on the load of the game (and Reset sets them to strange settings) and the daytime options there are only working in pause.

@FraBazz: Have you enabled this mod in the game's Content Manager?

I would also appreciate this option:
"This Tonemapping and lighting are different from the vanilla game's looks.
Can you add a 'Reset to default values of map theme' button?
Or can you prepare presets for the default values of five themes of vanilla (temperate, tropical, winter, etc.)?
Thank you!"

The ONLY way to get the 7 Relight UEC LUTs/presets (Cool, Film, etc) is to subscribe to this mod. They don't show up if you try to run this mod locally. Also, if you save a Relight preset while subscribed, and then switch to local, Relight will not find the saved preset (on the Mac).

On the Mac, there seems to be a pathing issue when trying to run this mod locally.
This mod writes file paths with backslashes (Win) instead of forward slashes (Mac), and includes the backslashes in the file names, so...
1) No presets are found.
2) In the mod interface, clicking the "Open Presets folder" button does nothing.
3) Saving a new preset writes the file to the Colossal Order root folder and includes backslashes in the file name: "Cities_Skylines\ModConfig\RelightPresets\RL_Preset.light" instead of writing to:
Colossal Order
> ModConfig
>> RelightPresets
>>> RL_Preset.light

Why does this require "ability to read" mod?
FraBazz Feb 4 @ 9:27am
Please, I can't use this, the hotkey is not working!

does this work with day and night cycle? and the real time mod?
Overlord Jan 4 @ 3:36pm
UEC is very weird mod in combination with relight. You just move one of the sliders about 1mm to left or right and you destroy all the setting you had. To restore them you have to click on/off 2 of the 4 daylight classic mod setting :D. I think the bet way would be that Ronyx would implement the UEC into his relight mod and problem will be solved. I use UEC only because Relight "requires it" and I use it for time change although it does not work either even when I pause the game at certain time the time slowly goes up or even down :D
99999gamer Jan 4 @ 1:58pm
It is ironic that although Ultimate Eye Candy is listed as one of the dependencies, UEC does not work very well with Relight - when both are on, UEC often becomes unable to adjust the time of the day even when 'use day/night cycle' is on, so I have to use Time Wrap Fix instead. I am posting this comment under both mods (Relight and UEC) as I do not know in which the problem lies.
