This mod is rated: Clean and Stackable

This mod provides a customized GPS and a customized small sign which allows you track dinos, tribe mates and the custom waypoints when activated.

Prior to tracking you will have the opportunity to view the dino you want to track. If the dino is too far away (out of render distance) you will be unable to view the dino, in this case you will be shown the dino profile.

The more area that get scanned the more dinos you will be able to track. It doesn't mater who did the scanning as all scan results are available to all players.

If a dino is not in range of your screen space the dino will show 'red' in the list and you will not be able to get a remote view. This can happen while other people closer to the dino are able to get a remote view, it's all about personal distance.

When tracking a dino that is currently out of range (red and no preview) you are tracking the dinos last known location. If the dino has moved the tracked location could suddenly update when you get into range and there is the possibility that it won't be in range once you get to the location, though I expect this to be rare for most dinos.

To activate the tracking UI re-select the tracking device after you have equipped it. The device will not work if it isn't on the hotbar.

The first time you select, it only equips, in this state it provides you with the services of a GPS. Selecting it a second time and the tracking HUD will activate.

The tracking hud will display a map and two markers showing your location and the location of the dino or person you are tracking. Currently when tracking a player the dino icon is still used.

The position of the player and the tracking target will update in real-time as long as the tracking target exists. (In single player mode, you can loose your tracking target if it wanders out of range).

The UI and HUD can be deactivated by selecting the tracking device again.

If more than one Dino Tracker is placed on the hotbar, only one will be usable.

When tracking tribe mates you will be able to track them even if they are off-line and any corpse that belongs to someone in your tribe.

To ensure you never loose a tribe/personal dino again, be sure to craft and use the DinoTracker at least once in range of each of your tames.

Once the Tracker has learned about them you will be able to track them no mater where you or they are.

** New Way-point tracking! ** You can place a way-point tracking node anywhere on the map and everyone in your tribe will be able to instantly track the location. You can even leave additional notes in the waypoint log!

If you would like to modify the default min/max level you can setup the following optional settings (this is just an example and is not required for the tracker to function).

Add the following as a new section in GameUserSettings.ini

*** !>>This has been updated <<! ***

Admin command to summon the Dino Tracker:
cheat gfi WeaponDT 1 0 0

Admin command to summon a Trackable Waypoint:
cheat gfi WaypointTrackingNode 1 0 0

If you use the scroll wheel to brows the list of dinos it will move your camera and it could become stuck.

If you have disabled hibernation in singe player/non-dedicated server mode do not use this mod!! it will hang your game as soon as you activate the tracker.

A special thanks to a few people who have helped with testing: Ravenbones, Core, Elron MacBong & Idrona.

A big shout-out to DragonClaw Modding for the custom mesh for the way-point tracking node.

That's an interesting problem Vegas, thanks for letting me know. Right now there are a few known issues that I need to get to, unfortunately I'm a bit behind so it's going to take a bit longer before I get back to this.

Am I doing something wrong. When I track a dino it puts a halo effect around that dino, but there is no indication where that dino actually is. The halo does not help. If I can see that I already know where they are.

Good to hear. Once it's fixed this will be back on my essential mod list.

@DarkFire Yeah I ran into a a problem with uniquely iding the dino. So over time the data becomes stale.

You can purge the data by removing the mod.

I do have a version planned that resolves this issue.

Unfortunately this mod isn't working for me. It only shows the location of where dinos were when they were first detected, rather than where they actually are at any given time. Shame as it would be an essential mod if it worked.

ok, death. I'll re-test that.
