How to play like a real trapper (xdxdxdxd)

In this guide, i will be showing you how to play like a real trapper

Basics of being a trapper

First of all, if you're new to DBD, I recommend watching a few videos to start with, get acquainted with the basics. If you dont know how to do a skillcheck/lunge, then go watch some videos (start with the tutorials).

------NOW TO THE FUN STUFF------

When you're playing trapper, be ready to place a lot of traps (duh), but, knowing where to place the traps, that's the trick. Place traps in high grass (near windows, pallets, doorways)

The addons are pretty important, i'll get to it in the next section.

NOW, THE SECRET, THAT WE ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...... Kill as if you were there, make yourself the trapper, center on the kill, nothing moves you, but the desire to kill your pray, and deliver it to the all loving father, Moloc.... Sorry, THE ENTITY

That's the basics, mostly. Hold M1 to lunge, tap M1 for a quick hit!

THE LUNGE IS VERY IMPORTANT, as it will give you a few meters, and you'll most likely to hit the target, the tapping is mostly for interrupting actions (vault over a window, repairing a gen, getting in a locker)

Do keep in mind, that for you to interrupt the window jump, the victim MUST be hurt.

---Acquaintence with various maps---

In dead by daylight, you will be killing and hiding in different terrains, in this section i will talk about some of them.


---MACMILLAN ESTATE---

This is our map, the trapper's map (every killer has a map).

In this map, you will be facing against very blueish lighting, rocks, trees, high grass (a lot of it) and torn down buildings made of bricks, also counting the main building.

In these conditions, placing traps is very simple, using the knowledge i gave you in the first section, place traps near high traffic zones With high grass (Windows, Pallets, doorways)

---COLDWIND FARM---

This map is kind of a pain in the ass for us, large open spaces (cornfields) and very little, but near high traffic zones, High Grass.

In this map, you'll be facing against, cornfields, small rocks, with pallets, wood torn down buildings (also called jungle gyms or something like that) and trees.

This is very simple, as i said in the macmillan estate part, place traps near high traffic zones With high grass (Windows, Pallets, doorways) Apply same technique

---AUTOHAVEN WRECKERS---

Now, This is kind of a mix, macmillan estate, but with a lot of pallets, jungle gyms, and high grass.

There's a little trick, Near pallet loops, there is a lot of high grass, so placing a trap, is VERY useful, Because, in a moment of hurry, the prey will run through the pallets, and you will get a kill (unless they disarmed that trap earlier)
Apply the same technique

---CROTUS PRENN ASYLUM---

I hate this map, and no my dearies, this place has a lot of good trap spots, problem is this place drops my fps to ♥♥♥♥ (from 79 to 40) I dont know why, but it does, apply the same technique with the other maps.


---HADDONFIELD---

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MAP

This place is heaven for us trappers, High grass near high traffic areas, enclosed spaces with high grass, houses with windows. Man, this place is a beauty.

Apply same technique.


---BACKWATER SWAMP---
There's Heaven, then there's Hell

This place is awful, applying the same technique, will most likely give you 1 kill max.

Focus on the epicenter, the boat, that place is normally a magnet, if theres no one there, move from there on, only place traps in pallets, the metal shack and windows, check gennies THOROUGLY, this place has a lot of fog, a lot of bushes, and a lot of trees. Be careful of this map (i know its basically applying the same technique, but, i changed it a bit) Use Your weapon mostly DO NOT APPLY SAME TECHNIQUE

---RED FOREST---
I haven't played this map much, but it seems as if it was a mix of Autohaven and backwater, a lot of fog, a lot of high grass, and a big ass house, this place has pretty average trap spots, i'd recommend using the technique, but mold the technique to the situation.

---SKILLS---

I use these skills, as they make the game much easier. but, if you dont like one of these, then change it, Mold the game at your will



IRON GRASP (Gives you more time to take survivors to the hook)

NURSE'S CALLING (You will detect the area of survivors healing or being healed)

BRUTAL STRENGHT (Break pallets, Much faster)

DEERSTALKER (Shows you the aura of dying survivors)


That's about it.

When you start, in the bloodweb Head always for a skill, even though its a ♥♥♥♥ one, it won't appear later in the bloodweb


If you want another skill, i'd change Nurse's calling for thanatofobia (Every injured, dying or hooked survivor reduces repair, heal and sabotage) or Agitation (Move faster while carrying someone)

---ADDONS---

These addons are for different playstyles, if you like one of the combinations, slash away


TRAPPER BAG- TRAP SETTERS (these addons are for those people that want more traps, and want to place them faster, if you like it, use it)

TRAPPER GLOVES- LOGWOOD DYE (These addons are for those people that like to place traps faster, but conceal them, if you like it, use it)

¡DIAMOND STONE! - SETTING TOOLS (this is the real deal, with this combination, you'll be able to place traps real fast, and make them Fatal, keep in mind that diamond stone is a ULTRA RARE ITEM, so you can probably only use this combination in higher levels)
