The 442nd Sound Mod (Open Beta)

Description
This mod is currently missing some sounds, and is a work in progress. HQ sounds and bullet-death sounds as well as some lines that need re-recording will be added as soon as I can find time to get them done. In addition, the subtitles do not fit the actual lines. Even I don’t actually have a transcription of the lines yet. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I hope that what is currently on display is entertaining enough for you to try out.

History

The 442nd RCT was a Army unit consisting entirely of Japanese-Americans, or American citizens of Japanese descent. Previously barred from service due to the concern that their Japanese heritage might limit their ability to serve the United States loyally (and also outright racism and fearmongering among the general white American populace), Nisei were finally allowed to train and serve as part of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in 1943. Although initially skeptical of the utility of a Japanese-American unit, examples of the stellar character of Japanese-Americans like the VVV and the 100th convinced military leaders that an all-Nisei unit would be worth the effort.

And boy, it sure was.

The 442nd fought all across Europe, from the Vosges to the Gothic line. They earned numerous decorations for their bravery including 21 Medals of Honor and 8 Presidential Unit Citations, and by the end of the war they were one of the most highly decorated units relative to their size. The heavy fighting resulted in equally heavy casualties, and by the end of the war about 14,000 Nisei had cycled through the 4,000 strong unit.

The 442nd Ingame (The contents of this mod)

This mod replaces the US Army’s “Matthew” voice with an even younger, more shrill and juvenile Japanese-American voice, tentatively named “Shu” or something. The new voice has many lines in Japanese, with most of them being heard under suppression. The voice’s unsuppressed radials are formal and procedural, While its suppressed radials and reactions can be described as aggressive and raucous.

Replaces:
U.S. Army (Standard)
1st Infantry (1 on helmet)
3rd Infantry (Spade on Helmet)
28th Infantry (White Helmet Cover)
29th Infantry (Gas Mask)

Please try it out, and tell me how it sounds.

Thanks to Ribs, Unmutual, and StuffedShark for compiles. Macs are great.
Thanks to the DOIcord community for encouragement and support. I never would have gotten this trash off the ground without you guys.
Thanks to NWI for a fantastic game.
Thanks to Wikipedia, goforbroke.org, history.army.mil, and JAMsj[www.jamsj.org] for references and images.
