It would be kinda useful if when you exported the modlist it put the name of the mod commented out next to the mod ID in the file

"Pro" tip: Every mod's ID# is displayed at the top of its Steam page if you've enabled it by (at the top of the screen) clicking on Steam > Settings > Interface, then checking the "Display Steam URL address bar when available" option; the mod ID# is between "id=" and "&tscn".

Location of ModSwitch export files (at least on a Mac):

~/Library/Application Support/Rimworld/Saves/ModSwitch

I gather from the Internet that the Windows location is probably

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Saves\ModSwitch

... but someone else will have to confirm, because I don't currently have a Windows machine with Rimworld installed to test it.

Also note that the Mod Switch export file isn't really human-readable. It's an XML file that lists the mods by their numeric Mod ID, not by their name. So though you can open it up and look at it, it's not useful information outside the game.

Importing a modlist is convient. saves some ahssle from moveing it manualy from the save file itself
you can import your mod list from your saved games on the settings menu, it's the wrench icon on the bottom

saved games are stored on steam cloud so you can make a save on your previous pc and it'll appear on your new pc. after that you can import the mod list from that save
