Description
This Quality of Life mod simply allows regular soliders to access the training screen with the "Soldier Abilities" button in the Armoury, just like faction soldiers do. This is especially noticable when you want to do some last minute training while prepping for a mission. Note it does not remove the requirement to build the Training Center first. If the training center is not built, as well as for soldiers currently waiting to be promoted and non-trainable classes like Psi-Ops and SPARKs, the classic promotion/ability list screen will be used.

Compatability
This mod overrides "XComHQPresentationLayer", so will conflict with any mod which also overrides this class.


Other Mods by me
  • WOTC Compatible (non-WOTC versions also exist if appropriate)
    • Cinematic Rapid Fire, which gives Rapid Fire and Chain Shot their cinematic camera back which was removed in the patch ages ago. Also gives the Reaper Banish ability the same improved look.
    • Less Overwatch Lock Ups!, which attempts to fix the visualization lockups during complex Overwatch/Reaction fire situations.
    • Better Armory Item Stats, which tweaks the stats display of weapons, utility items and upgrades in the Armoury, including displaying Critical Damage, Armor Pierce and Shred for all appropriate weapons.
    • Better Demolishing!, which gives range, weapon and upgrade based aim buffs to the 'Demolition' ability.
    • Better Grappling!, fixes issues with Grappling targeting in certain world geometry.
    • Shaken Scars are Back! The name says it all, but to those who weren't around for the first couple of months of XCom2, a feature was bugged out in a patch and never fixed, which randomly scarred shaken soldiers. This now means some, but not all, gravely wounded soldiers, not the "new" WotC shaken fatigue status.
    • Trainable Sparks (and other Buffs) WotC was one step forward, two steps back for SPARKs. As well as allowing training, also gives them access to breakthroughs for their weapons, an ammo pocket (ammunition only utility slot), and some hack progression.
    • Ability Interaction Fixes, which fixes up "Death from Above" and "Serial" not proccing from second shot kills of "Chain Fire"/"Rapid Fire" and some other ability interaction issues.
    • Original High Hit Dodge Behaviour, which restores the pre-patch behaviour where Hit chance over 100 gradually eliminated dodge chance, not immediately made dodges impossible once Hit chance is 100 or more.
    • In conjuction wtih sebkulu, WOTC - Extended Information!, an enhanced, rewritten version of Perfect Information. Includes full list of enemy abilities as well as a stat list, as well as the classic features of the "shot bar" and stats in flyovers.

Yes, both mods override XComHQPresentationLayer (as both mention in their description).

@pauloel7: There's little point having both mods active, they affect a similar partof the game, but come from a very different point of view. This mod doesn't allow access to the training screen for unit whcih don't already, it just allows easy access from the Armoury, not having to go via the Traning Centre all the time. As the name implies, the othe rmod replaces the "old style" ability in all situations, so classes which don't have access to the training centre normally, since they use the training screen, can buy abilities. Put simpiy, this mod is purely use a UI convenience, it doesn't allow you to actually do anything you couldn't already, and shows the two columnt ability view for promitions, and before the training centre is build.. The other mod opens up the tranining centre for all classes, and uses the training screen view even when the training centre isn't built, but it doesnt allow ability purchase until the traning centre is buit.

not sure what button you mean? If the training centre is built, then selecting "soldiers abilities" from the armoury will open up the training screen instead. Unless a promotion is due, then it will show the old screen to prompt selecting the free ability.

How Instant Avenger Menus work for me: game freezes for 2 or 3 sec when switching to/from the globe. Never sure if it is still working or hanged up :) So I decided to switch over to this mod but I cannot tell the difference yet :\ Where's that button should have appeared?..
