Polish Welcome | An Ela Guide (Updated for 25/10/17)
By Molvanîa!
Rather than waiting like 6 months after an operator comes out to do a guide for it like some kind of spaz, let's do it the day after they offically came to the game.
Ela is actually really easy to play, and is probably going to be the new roaming meta because everything she has is basically to help her roam to an extent.
I don't know why everyone says Ela is the new Waifu or whatever, when Caveira and Mira exist. No love for Romance Countries I guess.
Basic Information
  • Ela has 1 armour and 3 speed, making her great at roaming and not as good for anchoring.
  • She has a choice between 2 different primaries, but only 1 secondary. More on this later.
  • She has a choice of impact grenades or barbed wire, more on this later.
  • She has 4 concussion traps (5 if you count the one she can explode when downed) that stun enemies in a way similar to Echo's drone, just not as for long.
  • Her real name is Elżbieta Bosak, and she is from Wroclaw, Fun fact, my grandmother was born in Wroclaw. Less cool she had to flee because she was Romani, because, you know, Nazis.

Primary Weapons
Ela has a choice between 2 Primary weapons, we'll start with the Scorpion EVO 3 A1.

The Scorpion Evo 3 AI (still after the patch I still pay attention to these guides you know, so after 25/10/17 it still...) is one of the best weapons in Siege. I'm dead serious. This gun is one of the most versatile weapons in the game, the only bad thing about it being its low damage, which doesn't matter really. Think of the Scorpion as a 50 round magazine Vector, on a 3 speed operator. It's honestly rediculously good. Basically, it's a headshot weapon like the Vector and P90, fire it in bursts. I personally recommend a suppressor, because damage isn't really an issue with this weapon. This is my go to weapon for Ela.

The FO-12 is actually a pretty good shotgun. However, it has the unpleasant reality of being compared to the Scorpion Evo. It has good damage and surprisingly low recoil, and can also be fitted with an extended barrel which basically get's rid of the shotgun's sharp damage drop off. It has a large, 10 round Magazine, with a really quick reload as far as shotguns go. It can also be fired as fast as you can pull the trigger. However, the Scorpion Evo is a much better choice because of how good it is. It's not that the FO-12 is bad, it's just the the Scorpion is really, really good.
Secondary Weapons

The RG15 is a really unique pistol, as it is fitted with a reflex sight, and also has pretty high damage, low recoil, and a fairly large magazine. It's a pretty good weapon, and works well with the shotgun due to the RG15's longer range. There is no trade off, you always have this weapon, so, there isn't much to say really. It's a jack of all trades pistol.
Grzmot Mines
The Grzmot (Polish for Thunder) Mines, are concussion mines that can be stuck anywhere, and cause a similar effect to that of Echo's drone, albeit for less time than Echo's drone (about 3-4 seconds). Basically, if you want to make the most of the mines, you have to be pretty close to them when they are triggered. However, they can also stun you if they are set off close to you, so it's important to watch where you are standing. Usually, I place 2 in the objective to help my teammates who are anchoring there, and take the other 1 with me to help me roam. The mines have a fairly large blast radius, about 2-3 metres in diameter.

In my opinion, it's best to place the mines over doorways or over windows, as it is much harder to look up when going inside a door or window than to look down.

Next, you can also place them under the feet of attackers by blowing away the floor with an impact grenade or shotgun, and placing a mine on one of the beams, like this.

This is how it looks from above.

It is inadvisable to blow away the floor in the objective room (obviously), so this tactic is best used outside the objective.

Another posibility is to throw the mines in small holes in the wall, making it difficult to see. This is what it looks like from the attacker's perspective.
This hole is made by simply meleeing a wall twice and throwing the mine inside. It is rather finicky though, so it can be difficult at times to get it in there perfectly.

You can also throw a mine in between the legs of the hostage, which will stun attackers as they go to pick him up. It's not the most effective tactic, but it does work.
Ela is a really good operator, and is probably one of the best roamers right now, probably even better than Jäger.

Want to read my other guides? No of course you don't, but here they are anyway.

So, I'm like a photo editor/photographer or something, and maybe or maybe not have a massive porfolio of my work located on my Flickr that I'm totally shilling for in my guide. If you want to see more of my work, you can do so here[].
