The Advent Sniper is a deadly sharpshooter equipped with a lethal sniper rifle, that annihilates foes from afar.

Advent Snipers have extreme range, sometimes even shooting you from beyond their line of sight, making use of their Squadsight and Longwatch abilities to zone out challengers. They will overwatch more than any enemy, waiting for a chance for their foes to expose themselves.

There are three tiers of Advent Snipers. The regular Advent Sniper, the Advanced Advent Sniper, and the Elite Advent Sniper.They spawn relatively early game, all they way through the late game.

ADVENT Snipers drop ADVENT Sniper corpses. Which are autopsied to aquire their weapon.

That's right, much like the Hunter's sniper rifle, the ADVENT sniper rifle is limited to one per game, there's no way to get another one, so make sure you don't lose it. There are three tiers of sniper rifles.All rifles are magnetic but higher tiers will have increased damage. All three tiers have three weapon mods slots. With the Modular Snipers breakthough it can be increased to four slots. Unlike the Chosen sniper, the ADVENT sniper does require 2 action points to shoot.

Notable changes from Vanilla version are:
-No executioner ability.
-The Sniper will overwatch a little bit less.
-Corpse requirement for autopsy reduced to 1.
-Snipers only use 1 action point to shoot or longwatch.
-XCOM can now use the sniper rifle that the ADVENT Sniper uses.

Hey, there's some more typos in XComEncounterLists.ini, the wrong SpawnDistributionLists are used, leading to the Sniper being added (again) to ADVENT lists rather than what it's supposed to be.

They're added to "AdventLeaders" again, not "TerrorLeaders"

Similarly, "AdventFollowers", not "TerrorFollowers"

Added again to "AdventLeaders", not "AvengerDefenseRNFLeaders"

And "AdventFollowers", not "AvengerDefenseRNFFollowers"

In the screenshot there are like 3 of them in a pod. Sounds cool but I don't want 3 snipers spawning at once especially because I use the larger pod size mod so it would be like 6 snipers...

You would need to edit the image in yourself using the mod tools (Which are in of itself a hefty download if all you want to do is that one changes)

as far as the UI image, I think the Darklance is a slightly closer match than the Plasma Lance. any idea how that change could be made?

Just spotted what I think is a typo in XComEncounterLists.ini

SpawnDistributionLists=(ListID="NoHardCCUnits_Leaders", \\

That line is missing the "+" which the others all have.

For those who have the rifle disappearing on you, or just want extra copies of the weapon try this console command

AddItem AdventSniperM1_XCOM 1
AddItem AdventSniperM2_XCOM 1
AddItem AdventSniperM3_XCOM 1

M1 to M3 is for the different tiers of the weapon so add whichever that you wish.

My harbinger rifle disappeared and turned into a regular mag sniper. Juding by some of the previous comments, this seems to be reaccuring problem. Any fix?
