Description
Simple mod that increases GT race distances to be more like that seen in endurance racing. Tyre life, ERS systems, critical part deltas, performance deltas have been adjusted to create a closer field.

Endurance replaces Medium preferences, with medium race length rules being 240 miles, and short/long removing and adding 110 miles respectively.

Endurance+ replaces Long preferences, with medium race length rules being 350 miles, and short/long removing and adding 150 miles respectively.

Will work seamlessly with TheFlamingRed's Balance mod once he updates for the current version of the game.

Summary of changes:
- Race distances on Medium and Long preferences have been increased to turn GT into a series that can have both sprint races (short rules) and endurance racing (long rules). Hopefully this makes it a different experience to single seaters
- Top speed reduced to a more realistic level. This also helps keep the engine from being OP
- Reduced importance of the engine
- Cornering stats made more important
- Cliff penalties are now less severe across the board
- Reduced car spread based on raw performance
- Increased reliance on critical parts
- Reduced impact of the driver, both with or without driver aids
- Reduced potency of the hybrid system by increasing discharge rate and reducing the fuel saving bonus
- Increased Push-2-Pass duration, but reduced the power. It now requires more tactical use as you'll need more space to use it
- Reduced the recharge rate of ERS
- Reduced the time cost per lap of fuel, as you'll be carrying far more with the increased distances
- Increased tyre change times to be more in line with real world GT3
- Increased tyre life across the board to allow for the increased distances
- Inters and Wets saw a large increase because weather will now last longer in the race
- Some tyres have had their band time penaltes altered to make all-soft stints obsolete (subject to further testing)

NOTE: Do not use Short preferences with this mod, you'll see no difference from vanilla as it is currently the vanilla values.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Sometimes other series will show the increased laps, this is an unavoidable issue where the race distance is picked up when a race occurs in the calendar, even when you aren't in it.

I have had to use a dummy Media.txt to upload this because PlaySport goofed, so if you have a mod that uses this txt, you may have conflicts. It'll be this way until the error is fixed.

The AI go a little crazy with their pit strategies on the Phoenix Oval with Endurance+

I also have a SingleSeater Rebalance mod!

This should also work with FIRE by Chris & Falko as I also tested this - however if you do use the two together and you have issues, then you cannot file bug reports to myself, or to Chris. I don't play FIRE, so beyond checking basic compatibility, I will be doing no further work on this.

NOTE: If you wish to use this and my SingleSeater Rebalance mod together, then you will need the MERGED VERSION.

This is not forgotten, I'm still playtesting this to ensure it's still balanced, as intended. I'll have an update ready for both of my mods, plus a mod for the new Endurance DLC.

Sounds like a good mod.
Since commonly the Race lenght also altert the parts and tyre durablity and the fuel consumption. So there was no difference in Long or short races. Just finer adjustments to tactics

Sorry @GeneralRambo, I missed your question.

The game has no day night transition, so you'll be stuck with beautiful daylight permanently, unfortunately.

@Brian, I meant the time change that results going from Day to Night, but that actually does answer another question.

i know but like you say next best thing and ata the end of the day a dam long race is close in the grand scehm of things

Unfortunately we can't use time for races. I did try with an old file, but it turned out to be unused for races. I did look up the distances for endurance racing, however, which was the next best thing.

@thom67 that was a problem with the game and modded models, this should have been fixed by 1.41 today (23/08).
on another note i would love if it was possible to change laps to time otherwise it's nice to have some use to tyre stragies

Sweet! As a MASSIVE Endurance fan i'm really happy that someone has finally come out with a mod to extend the amount of laps. One side question that i've been unsure about in the game is; Does anyone know if there is actual time change in the game?

In case anyone wants it, I will put up a summary of changes on the mod page later, and the full changes in a discussion.
