Swim Clear Scuba Mask

MOD ID: 1102050924

Major code improvements and new skin upgrade for the TEK Helmet. See Change Log for details.

What does this mod do?
It adds a new configurable Scuba Goggle called a Swim Clear Mask. It aims to improve the mask for adventuring under the waves by clearing the distortion and blurring, whilst still maintaining a sense of realism to the depths. It has the following improvements over the vanilla set.
  • No Mask Overlay - Default
  • No Distortion Effect - Strength reduced to 0
  • No Edge Darkening - Vignette
  • No Chromatic Aberration - Blurry Vision
  • Configurable Distance Mask Modes via INI
  • Configurable Bright Mask Mode via INI - Extra Clear
  • Configurable Mask Overlays via INI
  • Underwater Saturation +25%
  • Craftable in Inventory
  • NEW: Swim Clear TEK Skin - Upgrade your TEK Helmet with clear underwater vision.
  • NEW: Optional Blue Tint via INI

Don't forget to give the mod a thumbs up if you dig it!

New in the 2.0 update is a skin for your TEK Helmet that upgrades it with the Swim Clear underwater vision. You'll get the skin automatically in your inventory (as long as you've already learned the TEK Helmet engram), when you craft the normal swim clear mask. New INI setting available to disable this skin if you wish.

Mask supports any map, but below are the maps that have been tested and reported OK.
  • The Island + Underwater Caves
  • The Center
  • Ragnarok [Thanks Letoric]
  • Madagascar Evolved [Thanks Hermit]
  • Aberration [Prelim Test OK] - Potential Improvements

I have used this mod on modded maps and it works amazingly :D I tried crystal clear on our modded map and it wasn't working. So I tried this one out and I gotta say its amazing! I love the option to also be able to adjust the clearness of the water in the .ini settings :D

I have a review of it I just did if you want to see HOW much this improves underwater :D actually looks like water, where crystal clear is like you're swimming through air :P

I have this set to 4.0 in .ini settings which is max clarity :D

Has anyone attempted using this on the Amissa map?

@Bushcrafter - You need to set up the ini file correctly or it will look default. We have ours set to super clear at far distance. Calling this a fake mod is fake news. :demoneye:

Ottima! I fondali sono chiarissimi e la nitidezza aumenta esponenzialmente. Consigliatissimo

Its not at all a 'fake mod' lol, calm down. It works perfectly fine on mine and lots of other peoples servers. Just because youre not intellegent enough to figure out how to use it or set your ini settings right, doesnt make it 'fake' lol

Did not work! Tek Helm or other Helmet with the skin on top you see normal and not better. This is a fake mod!

We run this mod on The Center - We are recruiting more people for our community on our private PVE servers! Any questions feel free to add me! Servers have been running since Dec 2017. We have 3 Maps, No dino caps or tribe caps and no decay timers as well as tons of mods to have fun with! ^_^

@MorkOz, nice work, we are using it with all default vanilla settings ie blackout mask, 1.0 view range and tint to get as much of that underwater feel as possible yet it removes that wavering and double vision effect which makes some people nauseous which is a great plus, thanks!

All mods generically work on all maps unless they specifically state and are otherwise designed for a certain map only such as a map extension of floating islands for "The Island" map.

Due to 3rd party maps not always having their water volumes, post processing effects set correctly (or it may not yet be implemented in the development cycle) a mod such as this mask mod may or may not have much effect on the water of that specific map, due to how small this mod is and how easy it is to set up your best bet is to simply download and try it out with the settings you desire.

Does anyone know if this works on the Genesis map?
