Hunters: A Marksmanship and Sneak Expansion

PRIMER: This mod alters two(2) perk trees; Marksman and Sneak. Ergo, it will conflict any mod that does the same.

MISSION: To make the job of Hunter more specialized and rewarding.

I love the Hunter class. I have never liked getting close to my targets and crave the thrill of the Hunt. The seeing the target from afar. The ever-so-cautious creep to a tactical striking point. The wait for the target to take that oh so dooming pause. The snap of the bow. The fall of the impaled target. I LOVE THAT!

Skyrim has a rounded perk system, but for those like me, we are left in the lurch to dream 'what-if's'. I happen to believe that a skilled Hunter is without-a-doubt the single most explosive character. They have a natural barrier from diseases that enemies may inflict; that of distance. They have a degree of intelligence in that they wish to remain as far from harm as possible; let the foolish close in upon the target. With this Mod, they can now become a specialized machine, wreaking terror among any unlucky enough to become their enemies.

The Marksman and Sneak trees have been altered to allow for more choices in preference, as well as power. The balance is the amount of perk points this requires, streaching your resources thin along other skills as well as making many of the more powerful perks harder to achieve.

Here is what has changed:
(please see the pictures for detailed visuals of each perk requirement)

Steady Hand: Two(2) levels altered on this perk.
Quick Shot: There are now four(4) levels to this perk.
Critical Shot: Three(3) levels altered on this perk.
Hunter's Discipline: There are now two(2) levels to this perk.
Bullseye: There are now three(3) levels to this perk.

Muffled Movement: There are now five(5) levels to this perk.
(NEW) Ambush: This is a new perk that multiplies two-handed sneak attacks.
Deadly Aim: Multiplier has been altered
Hidden Strike: Changed name from 'Backstab'

By no means must you get all the perks. You even have additional options to save perk points by 'going around the bend'. For example, if you wish to get the 'Ranger' perk and don't want to go through 'Hunter's Discipline' you can do via Bullseye level one(1). Also, if you wish to learn the "Assassin's Blade' perk, you may do so via 'Deadly Aim' or 'Hidden Strike'. It always irked me that you had to learn 'Backstab' to get to it in the Vanilla, because I rarely use swords with my hunters. These changes allow more customization without upsetting game balance.

Enjoy and don't forget to vote if you like this.

Perfect for my reaper/contractor character, who wields both bow and sickle, and wears the contractor armor. Now if only i could find a mod that included all sneak attacks into the backstab, or at least 2-handed. then again, with the name backstab, it makes sense, but still.

I'm showing "Assassin's Blade" as requiring level 50 Sneak, but I was able to purchase it having only level 42. On my last playthrough, I also didn't have to select "Light Foot" or "Ambush" to get "Deadly Aim." Last playthrough, though, I didn't start the game with the mod enabled so I don't know how that sorted out. Far as I know, I don't have any other mods that affect the Sneak or Marksman trees.

@Fatum The sneak attack with the bow is actually one less if you go the 2-H way and one more if you go the 1-H way.

I understand and like the changes to marksman.. but I dont get your changes to sneak... it makes the sneak attacks with bow even further away, and adds 2 handed weapon damage as a pre-req? also adding tiers to muffled movment? seems like odd choices to me.. but I guess it's balanced at least.

this is an awesome mod, i like the skyrim perk trees but the marksmen and sneak always left me wanting that little bit more :p

If I may humbly make a suggestion, please try some of my other mods. I would suggest the Random Variable Perks and NPC Hearts mods

Again, thanks

I've been playing with this mod for quite a while, it is very fun, indeed.
I love shooting with a bow in the game, I'm very good at it indeed, the only problem is my computer isn't quite the best, and I can only see them rather close! :(

Thank you for your swift reply!

Aye, I had another look at the screenshots and I noticed that the Archery levels required for most of those perks are different from vanilla:
- Critical Shot 1/3 available at 30 Archery (unaltered)
- Critical Shot 2/3 available at 65 Archery (instead of 60)
- Critical Shot 3/3 available at 95 Archery (instead of 90)
- Steady Hand 1/2 available at 45 Archery (instead of 40)
- Steady Hand 2/2 available at 95 Archery (instead of 60)

So... errrm... woops, I should have noticed that the first time around... I see it clearly now and I feel rather silly for having bothered you with those questions :s

I am positive I altered them. Please look at the details in the screen shots. They are changed. I am sorry if it came out that I added new perks in those spots. Altering was done. Again, look at the SS
