Description
Today, from Haast Industries: The WarEagle MK3. A full functional armoured frigate for exploration, trading or light combat. The model III is a full rebuild, an overhaul from the chassis up. Much larger, with improved internal areas, hangers, pods, weapon systems and controls, she's our best yet.

This ship is made entirely of combat steel, with double layer protection over various vitals, such as the Warp Drive, Fuel tanks, and main decks. A forward double bulkhead prevents shooting right through the ship. Internal walls are steel to save weight, but the protection is where it count. It features nearly a full set of turrets, and 3 chin mounted rocket launchers with 2 pulse lasers to round out the offensive lineup. In addition, it has all the usual goods, two Advanced constructor, medical, food, cargo, and a repair bay. Crew are housed on the main deck, and have mess, bunkrooms and lounge.

This ship is equipped with a large internal hanger that has vertical access through two 13x7 doors. This hanger measures 15 by 16 and can easily fit four Haast-Strike-Falcons. In addition to the main SV hanger, there are Two HV pods, with ramp access, and 7 by 12 pads. The forward hanger has ramp access and houses the cargo bay. Hasst Industries recommends mobile storage and processing units, and suggests docking them in this fofward bay. This is in addition to 6 large ammo boxes, two harvesting boxes and 7 T2 fridges.

To make getting in and out easier, there are forward and rear lifts right through the ship, and two ground access ramps.

For ease of use, weapons systems are signal controlled from both levers in the cockpit and the control panel. Lights are motion activated, and the ship features a simple seal command to close all external hatches and retract all ramps.

LCD screens on the bridge allow easy assignment of landing pads, and indication of fuel and 02 capacities.

This is my day to day ship that I play with in survival, so I update the BP often, and incorporate feedback. Feel free to leave a comment saying how you found it!

ceasarbear: The limit of the signal system is a little annoying, but having combat thrust able to be changed both by lever and signal is nice, given how much power draw it uses. The Marquee lights are not connected, but I wanted the shipname lit up.

I find that having cannons that can fire at the ground is enough for clearing out landing sites, and the miniguns have a better area of fire when the ship has landed. I primarily play SP, so miniguns vs drones is an important thing for me.

The hidden engines are a simple question of if the game allows me to armour these rather fragile elements. If so, then I will. I might redesign them if and when I need to, for example, placing the lateral thrusters at the front of the pods, and the vertical ones alongside the gap between the pods and the main hull.

I'm glad you like it, I'm saving up the materials for it in my SP game, so there will definately be some 'living in' changes after a while.

Nice ship. Love the amount of space, just right. Lots of ways to customize. Smooth flat style that's easy to paint.

Good use of signals. Have to toggle combat thrust if one turns off the master thrust and turns it back on, but that's just a limit of the signal system. Maybe leave a note for captains. Great to have those options. Noticed that the marquee lights around the ship name aren't connected to anything.

I'd prefer swapping the minigun and cannon turrets so that the miniguns could fire at the ground when planetside, but otherwise nice array of weapons.

The hidden engines are a bit of a high moral dilemma with Empyrion now :KOh: but it looks like you still could position the engine nozzles so that they are facing the exterior shell. Allow others to cut holes if they want and maybe help future proof the design.
