Tameable Wolves/Foxes

Description
Allows both foxes and wolves to be tamed through certain food items.

When either a fox or a wolf is not in combat, they become avalible for social interaction, at which point they will become tameable.

In order to tame a fox, you require a Rabbit Haunch to be in your inventory while you require a Venison Chop to tame a wolf. Once tamed, the animal will be replaced with a "Tame" varriant of their type. Tamed varriants will level with the player and will not flee from combat the same way a default fox would.

When released from your control, the tame animal will enter a dummy state, simply wandering the landscape until either killed or deleted by the game's core scripts.

The script that handles taming animals calls functions directly from the default follower script, this means that like always you will only be allowed 1 animal follower at a time. Other mods may change this (Though it is possible that there will be incompatibilities).

If you have any more questions regarding this mod please feel free to ask in the comments.

Notes:
- In rare situations, you may find that your pet dog has vanished from the game after a fast travel, this can result in the playeranimalcount varriable becoming stuck at 1. This will also cause you to be unable to tame both foxes and wolves, however this can be fixed by using the console command "set playeranimalcount to 0" (Thanks to FoxClaw for bringing attention to this problem and finding a solution)

====================

Updated 2/12/12:

- Tame foxes and wolves will now be able to enter buildings with you the same way a regular dog companion would.

- When releasing a tame fox or wolf from your control, the proper "Your X has returned to the wild." message will be displayed.

- Tame foxes now have a total of 60 hp instead of 62 (Same as dog companion). Wolves still have 62.

--------------------------------

Updated 2/14/12:

- Snow Foxes should now properly become Tame Snow Foxes.

Okay, so I found out it has to be cooked. Maybe you should indicate that somewhere in the description of the mod. Just trying to be helpful, this mod is actually pretty cool.

A bit disappointed with this mod. I couldn't find a mod that allows you to rename animal companions, and I wanted a fox named Pumpkin, but I remembered one already exists in the vanilla game. I got a brilliant idea to use this mod so I could have my very own cutiepie fox named Pumpkin, but when I used a calm spell on him, and successfully tamed him, his name changed to Tame Fox. And yes guys, to tame both wolves and foxes you need a calm spell or any effect that disables the 'fight or flight' response in wild animals.

For anyone having trouble with this mod: It does not work with Ultimate Follower Overhaul. As mentioned in the description... (probably other follower mods?) I got it to work correctly after removing that mod. :)

To tame a hostile wolf, use the dragon shout called Kyne's Peace (and possibly Animal Allegiance).

I highly recommend these two mods to go with Tamable Wolves/Foxes:

True Wolves of Skyrim - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59174
