Be anyone you want to be. Choose from 21 different loadouts then get randomly thrown somewhere in the vast land of Skyrim. Will you end up in the royal court of Solitude's magnificent Blue Palace or will you end up at the bottom of a dark, dank, necromancer-infested mine shaft and have to fight your way up to the surface? With 463 starting locations (and more being added) you will never enter Skyrim the same way twice! What will your story be?

Random Alternate Start is even better when used with the Character Creation Overhaul mod:

As seen on Start 2 Continue:

- Choose from 21 class starting kits each with it's own semi-random loadout
- Start in one of 463+ locations in Skyrim after character creation
- The Main Quest thread can be picked up by investigating rumors of dragons near Helgen
- Very light footprint ensures clean integration with the main quest and maximum compatibility with other mods
- Best used alongside Character Creation Overhaul

Random Alternate Start is compatible with virtually all other mods, except for other alternate start/quickstart mods.

Subscribe through Steam Workshop, download using Nexus Mod Manager, or download manually and copy all files in the 'Data' folder to Skyrim's 'Data' folder then enable the 'Random Alternate Start.esp' file. Random Alternate Start should be at or near the top of your load order to avoid any mod conflicts.

To uninstall this mod, simply disable the 'Random Alternate Start.esp' file and delete all the related files from Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

- If you run into Hadvar or Ralof they may bring up references to the dragon attack at Helgen as if you had been there. This will be corrected in the next release.
- If you experience crashing, hanged loading screens, continuous loading, or broken dialog for the Whiterun Gate Guard or Jarl Balgruuf you need to move the "Random Alternate Start.esp" to the bottom of your load order.
- Memory intensive hair mods can also cause crashes at character generation.

ugh it wont get off my game no matter what I do. Its completely broken the beginning start of my game. D: never should have installed this

Im trying to unistall this thing because im starting a new rp char that needs the regular start. and well I deleted all of it but now has glitched my game it starts as if we are in wagons but me and the other prisoners are outside the wagon as if we are getting loaded up in it in the middle of nowhere but it is not doing anything....ummm wuh?? help??? pls asap this is really frusterating

Great mod works perfectly even with my 50 or so other mods but is their a way that when you choose a loadout you get a bonus of sorts in the perk trees that the class would probabaly have such as knight with heavy armor or barbarian with two handed weapons or mabye magic kits each coming with a spell tome that fits. I remember oblivion where at the start you chose a stone power and class witch i think gave a bonus to its skills.I could use the mod Classic classes but i hate always haveing to start at helgen.

@Princess: I'm sorry you're having trouble--Please try moving Random Alternate Start.esp to the BOTTOM of your load order. That should fix any issues you're having.

@Berserker Bob: I apologize for that Bob, I overlooked that when placing it as a starting location.

I started but I do'nt have the quest, I've made a new character over again aswell to try if it worked a second time but no, I am not getting the quest when I've created my character, help please?

It started my character in Hillgrunds Tomb and I am trapped. I cleared the dungeon and looted a key from the necromancer boss but when i try to leave out of the only exit it says "Skyim - Locked Requires Key" and will not open. I'm guessing this dungeon is normally accessed by unlocking it from the outside.

I managed to get around this by using console commands to unlock the door.

@Crimson Caliber: Yes, you can. I play a spellsword type character myself. The difference between my mod and vanilla is that you will specialize in these skills to the detriment of your non-Major skills.
