Early Access Review
I genuinely really like this game and will probably play more, but I'm already past the refund window. I do NOT recommend it. Devs are checking off every box for suspicious behavior, including but not limited to:
- posing as indie but having huge corporate backing
- banning everyone with concerns in their Discord
- anti cheat in a single player game, undisclosed
- botted positive reviews
- huge day one price tag for an "indie"
- day one dlc
- dishonesty with Kickstarter backers
You can guarantee they're going to screw you over somehow, the question is just exactly how they will (microtransactions may be the first place, but we'll see). Save your money and buy the new game in the My Time At series.

Notes for the game itself:
- minimal story
- bland characters, ESPECIALLY the men
- extremely limited combat, which is so far a joke
Not including positives because frankly if you want those there are like, 900 bot reviews to help you with that. Please don't choose to give these people your money.

That's so funny I saw the commercial and was like where's the men? Do they not realize women are the ones who mostly play these style of games now. Lmao

Wait, the clothing in Aloft? NGL I completely forgot there even was any notable mechanic. The ship mechanic and building are tons better in Aloft than in Starsand right now though, just in terms of stability and quality of life, so there's that (Starsand has awesome furniture options, it just needs a lot of support before I interact more with that).
I'm happy to offer recommendations (I am perpetually online and have probably played a couple hundred on Steam alone) if you want that kind of thing -- not on these comments lol -- but no pressure, it can be fun to find them on your own

I guess, yea.
Aloft was a tad janky but I did enjoy the flying aspect and you can make a flying rock/airship thing! :D
As stupid as it sounds, I'm just not sold on the clothing :lunar2019laughingpig: hahaha.

I am a relative newcomer to 'cozy' games buuuuut the world is on fire and its nice to have some space to collect your thoughts now and then.:steeped2024:

wouldn't call a buggy early access game a "great indie game", even with as much as I actually do enjoy this game's gameplay. That being said, as you've noticed, it is opinion.

I've seen great Indie games sold for just as much though?

Oh to clarify the reason I say they had one is because they publicly defended having one for a long time. They seem to have recently and drastically changed their stance, but given most of us can't easily check, I am a little suspicious.
Not sure what cozy games you like but there's just so so many good options! I should revisit Aloft myself -- wasn't a big fan of the combat way back when it came out.

Actually, just saw Aloft is on sale hmm .... :lilith_whoa:

Fair comment on the EULA, my take is that they probably just copied a generic gaming one (an over the top one) and then left the door open for implementation of an anti-cheat in future should the need arise, the game take off, and they add a multiplayer. I believe this was at least highly requested if not in fact on their roadmap already.

Neither of us can really prove this one way or the other, but if they publicly said they don't have an anti-cheat (which one of the other commentors mentioned), should they then be found to have implemented one, there would be legal repercussions. :RedPuyo:
My expectation is however that they don't have an anti-cheat *presently* but still seek to retain the option of having one in future without having to get the solicitors back involved to rewrite their EULA to account for it. Its like privacy creep with facebook but much less insidious. :lilith_hiss:
p.s. ^_^ Thanks for the Mistra idea, but as this can be done with ducks ... :cool_seagull:.
