The reality is that this is the first instalment of the "Ultimate Ninja STORM" series, and there are bound to be issues as the developers venture into unknown territory. The "open world" campaign allows players to explore Konohagakure, but you are encouraged to complete missions based on how far you have travelled, the objects you destroy, and even the number of hours you spend. The village may feel lacking in personality the more you play the campaign mode.

The combat is not as refined as it will be in later instalments, which introduce new features such as evasion, combo strings, super attacks, assists, leader swap, and combination ultimate jutsu. Cut-scenes are shown only at key points in the series, while other moments are handled through text-based dialogue, which can become tiresome and somewhat repetitive.

However, these issues have been addressed in later versions by enhancing the campaign mode, combat, cut-scenes, and character dialogues considerably, allowing fans of the series to enjoy a rich and faithful experience of Kishimoto's work throughout this Franchise. I recommend this instalment, as it serves as the foundation for what the series has become today, featuring unique elements that are exclusive to this version (such as jutsu clashes in battle). The developers aimed to create this ambitious project while retaining the old model from "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja."
