Disappointingly buggy for a collection of ports of games made 30 years ago. I have had the game crash several times when attempting to load the main menu. A bare bones museum. Sonic Origins has quite a number of things going against it. Still, even if you own these games a few times over, as I do, there is still something worth looking at here. There are many modes appearing in an official Sonic game for the first time, like the mirror mode. I find the missions to be quite entertaining. The story mode is a fun romp, not needing to worry about lives makes the experience quite relaxing. The ability to retry special stages is quite nice too. You can probably get about the same experience with a combination of different mods and ROM hacks, but I personally find it nice to have it all under one package. Which makes the state the game is in all the more disappointing. My recommendation is to wait for a sale, unless you are a die hard Sonic fan like me, in which case you probably have the game already.
