What I expected (as propaganda materials told me) from Command: Modern Operations was a none-of-its-kind sandbox-styled wargame with high degree of freedom and helps to understand some essential elements in modern air/naval operation.

But Instead, what I got is a biased, erroneous, sluggishly-updating database (especially for non-western faction like Russia and China), a bunch of essential features (e.g. Hypersonic Glide Vehicles) that is exclusive to the commercially unavailable "Professional Edition", and scenarios filled with old-fashioned Western narcissism.

I wanted to love the game, I REALLY did. I have owned the game since the old CMANO days, and I once hoped that as time went by everything would be better: features unlocked, database improved, scenario quality got better. But I am disappointed. After all these years, everything stayed nearly the same. This also includes sluggish running efficiency and sudden crash from time to time.

CMO defines itself a wargame. Then the essential question is, if everything about simulating a future conflict is ensuring that one's own side will be victorious, by using biased data, by creating favorable situation, and by blocking away enemy capability that one himself do not have, why bother do the simulation in the first place?
