In topic More games like
All good recommendations. I'd like to add some that are both roguelikes/roguelites as well as 3D shooters, because I think those would be the closest fit:

- Tower of Guns
- Ziggurat
- Immortal Redneck

The latter two are pretty similar with respect to gameplay, but Immortal Redneck has more "persistent rewards", i.e., more Roguelite than Roguelike.
But I also guess they are not as unforgiving as RoR2, and they are all first person (If I remember correctly).
That's kind of a shame. I think the Djinn portals would have lend themselves for that purpose. To me, shortcut levels were a very reasonable design decision in the original game to avoid too much of repetitive gameplay.

In topic Side with Tartuk, fail Harrim's quest!!!
If you have a link for that (owlcatgames forum?), that would be awesome... I tried to find any dev statement, did not really see any.

In topic Advice on a good summoner build
Yeah, Monster Tactician is pretty great. The only sad thing is that the "channeling scourge" feat is not in the game. A single level dip into cleric would provide some nice way of keeping your summons alive with positive channeling.

On the other hand, the Monster Tactician can not use metamagic on his summons ability.

In topic Harrim's quest failure
Honestly, It does not matter whether this is a bug or not. Right now, it just feels broken. Broken by intent is not really any better. It should be changed in some form.

There's plenty of options for the devs.

1. As it is, the very least would be to provide a sound explanation why Harrim's quest can not simply be finished before the Trobold dungeon is made inaccessible by Kobolds or Trolls.

2. Allow for continuing Harrim's further quests regardless of failing this first one. Only needs some minor changes in the later conversations.

3. Give people the chance to finish the quest, before leaving the dungeon. Instead of the completely unnecessary "teleport".

There's probably more you could do about that.

If the whole thing is intended to punish the players for the chaotic decision, there's better ways to do that, without resorting to some contrived quest failure. For instance, some kingdom events similar to those caused by NokNok's quest line come to mind.

In topic No Respecing???That sucks!
The game needs some reasonable way to respec. And no, creating new mercenaries is not the way to go. For obvious reasons.

I would be fine with, e.g., using tokens for a full respec and/or some largish sum of gold to refund individual skill points. Or some variation of that, it really doesnt matter. The main thing is to have some option to make changes.

There's currently so much that can go wrong with assigning skill points (I mean, seriously, there's not even a confirm button when assigning points.). And there's also potential patch-changes to skills in the future to think about.

In topic Cannot Start playing
The problem persists for me. In about 33% of the cases, my loading screen never stops. A futher 33% crashes back to the desktop after a few seconds. The remaining 33% load fine.

Since there are at least two loading screens before and after the tutorial mission without any apperent way to safe progress, that means I can not get into the main game at all. (I could continue trying, but at some point the tutorial gets a tiny bit boring. :p )

OS: Windows 10 64bit
Ram: 32 GB
GPU: Nvidia GFORCE GTX 970
CPU: Intel i5-3570k, 3.4 GHZ

The game looks quite nice to me, so I would be glad for a fix.
Is there at least some kind of workaround to skip the tutorial mission?
