HS Galaxy is a lewd shoot-’em-up about shooting assorted “space ships”!

Gameplay
Shoot a ship and dodge projectiles. Each level offers a single enemy — they’re all reskins, but their projectiles move faster, hit harder, and their health bars become obscenely high. By destroying randomly spawned space-rocks, you may gain a temporary power-up. By the second and third enemy, if you don’t gain a power-up you should quit; your main weapon is so utterly useless, there’s no reason to use it on anything but space-rocks. Your lives are limited, and they are carried over between levels. While it’s nice keeping your hard-earned lives, this also means if you die too many times you’ll have to beat subsequent enemies flawlessly (or restart the whole game).

Sexual Content
There are three animated CGs. You may press a button to penetrate your foes, and spam the button to progress the scene. Unfortunately, there are no climaxes or ♥♥♥-shots. The penetration alternates between anal and vaginal — you have no say in the matter. I thought the artwork and animation were fine, but they are unvaried. The gallery only offers a meager three images.

Story
There is no story (but each lady does have a name!) I decided to take a look at the store page,

“This is a casual action game from the top view, where you control a spaceship and fight the boss of the spaceship. In the game, you need to destroy the boss to move to the next level.”

Huh. . . guess English isn’t Manga Studio‘s strong suit.

Visuals
The titlescreen looks okay — the space background is probably one of the most generic choices Manga Studio could have made. From the “Gallery”, you may review unlocked CGs. The artwork can’t be fullscreened, and the user-interface uses up nearly half the screen. From “Configuration”, you may adjust audio, display and “grafics [sic]” preferences. Controls can’t be remapped, but they can be viewed from the “Controls” window. HS Galaxy looks and feels like an amateur game, but that’s okay — art doesn’t make a game, gameplay does. As you defeat your enemies, an on-screen lady loses her clothes. It’s always nice to be distracted by naked ladies!

Verdict
This is one of the worst shoot-’em-ups I’ve ever played. I’m going to give HS Galaxy credit where it’s due; the artwork is decent, far from the worst I’ve seen. It could be better, but I could see somebody fapping to it! The gameplay on the other hand, wow — I mean wow. I had to think long and hard to remember a worse shoot-’em-up (which would be Virus Buster). When something like Virus Buster is viable competition, you know you [effed] up. With some rebalance and added content, I think HS Galaxy could be an okay game. Until then, I wouldn’t even grab this title on a sale. Did Manga Studio bother testing this game?
