I played Monster Hunter since the PS2.
I have bought consoles to follow the franchise, from the PSP to even the WII U.
I have played this game for much of my life and loved every minute of it.
Fighting new monsters became my past time enjoyment.
Looking forward to the next released monster to further sharpen my skills.
The thousands upon thousands of hours I have spent throughout the franchise.
Inviting new comers and helping the community grow by spreading the word of the game.

I would have given this game a recommendation BEFORE THIS DRM CHANGE. I can no longer play this game in any functional way. I am scared off this franchise because I am tired of paying for products that I do not have full access to.

Remove the DRM and I'll change my recommendation.

While I really enjoy this genre, with my favorite titles being FFT and Fire Emblem, I can't recommend this game despite me really wanting to. At best, I could suggest getting this game at a big discount ($8.99 at the time of this writing [8/13/23]. Overall score: 4/10.

What this game does great is capturing the essence of any great anima/manga/manwa that has a High School theme. The music, while limited, fits to enhance the experience. The arenas are really nice and are designed with care. The blood system is rather unique and I found myself planning to make the most of my team in each fight instead of pushing units to wipe out a field. The combo system is pretty neat.

That's where my praise ends. While this game literally wears its inspirations on their sleeves, it also has every issue that comes with the anime genre. The story jumps around like a ping pong ball that needs a truck to deliver plot development. This game uses the classroom asset as much as Naruto visits the swing set in flashbacks. There was 4 times where YUTO leaves the group in the Class Room while YUTA comes in after, playing exactly the same. Taiga has no sense of ambition to complete his goal: To rule the world -- given that he could have taken over the current gang in the school with ease to help with this goal, he actively avoids the help. There are very confusing moments in the game where the characters say they can/can't join a fight but are there anyway?

The unit menu U.I. is very bad because it does not present all the information of a character. Sure, you can see base stats, but you need to click into the character to see more information -- which isn't all the details anyway! You have to literally click on the unit's equipment list to read stats like "How much SP you start with" and EVA!! Even after clicking 3 times to get that info, you still don't know what Specials do until you use them in a fight!!! I think this is a horrendous oversight for a game selling at $20 because I'm left blind and confused what units can even do until I use them in combat. The Unit Menu needs to explain what the Unit does, show ALL stats, and explain what Specials do. There should be a small description of the character with hints about what their Specials do -- not having to use those new Specials only in a Fight.

Combat, where you would think the most attention was put into, feels barely baked. Yes, the combat works -- when it wants to!! Sure, you can use any Special, but Ishihara's 2 Special literally crashes the game by hanging the game up, preventing any inputs from working. I've had to close the game entirely to try again. What's worse is in Chapter 14, a boss unit's regular attacks cause this issue!! There are no usable items to heal/buff/debuff enemies in combat! There is only ONE HEALER and anyone could easily oversight Haruo for other damage dealing characters without realizing what Haruo can do.

With no passives for Units, no usable items in combat, lack of diversity in enemy fights, no selection on how units grow with Specials -- I can't suggest this game at the current price of $20. This game should have been put into Early Access and reduced to even $15. This game can be fun, for the first few hours, until the confusion and game breaking bugs breaks the fun.

Imagine Warframe + Doom 2016 + Arena Shooter all together with rogue-like progression. Gun play is smooth as butter and replayabililty is in the variations of Combat Shells. All Combat Shells feel unique and offer really cool ways to approach each combat room.

Easily G.O.T.Y for me.

A fun tactical RPG warband game. I'd recommend if you have the time and patience with the plot. The units are worth upgrading to their fullest forms.

A masterful blend of humor, amazing music, and solid combat. There is literally no other game that relates or competes to Hi Fi Rush's unique combat approach. If you love rhythm beat games, you're doing a terrible service not getting this game for yourself.

Got to Floor -97 on Descent, first shot.
Been grinding gear into trash items all previous floors, so I'm loaded
Got Armor that gave +250 DEF and with ~2K Dur on each piece
Weapon that dealt 217 and a nice shield
Magic that dealt 5.67 damage (Heavy Thunder)
Walked into a room
Threw Magic
Notice HP is now 1
'Weird, I'll magic again'
Lost 7 hours of progress

10/10 Would Descent Again

Fun FPS, not fun game.

If the game, even on the easier difficulties, wouldn't just throw heavy armored units with an AI that's convinced the best tasting crayon is the blue one... I would have enjoyed my experience more. Otherwise, this game falls pretty badly into a generic chest high shooter.

Early Access Review
Solid game. Being it's in Early Access, there's only about 3 hours of campaign and a very linear Arena mode. But this game has a great replay value even for just the lack of content to work off of. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Darkest Dungeon and very in-depth character customization

Before I begin, I want to make one thing clear: If you don't like RNG heavy games, this isn't for you.

With that out the way, this game is simple but packs a wallop for it's simplicity. To cut to the chase: This is a rogue-type RTS game that has heavy levels of RNG in it to have you to survive. One of aspects of the game is leveling up your hero which grants more health and stronger hero abilities for each tier you've unlocked. The game requires that you juggle between leveling your character or your base structures through Aether. Aether and Material are the key of the game's mechanics as you're forced to mine out Material and kill monsters for Aether with the game increasing it's difficult each step of the way.

The game, after a few nights, becomes exceedingly difficult if you don't keep on your Hero's Level and the level of your defenses around your Crystal. With some of the RNG events, like nights where Goblins bomb the living hell out you to nights of peace with fire flies flying around, you can either lose that run or exhale that deep breath you were holding onto to let your workers work at night.

Overall, this game is fun and I enjoy it deeply. I hope the devs continue to add new patches/content to this game as I can easily see it becoming a classic for it's fan-base.
