First off, the game is fun, but only for a short while. The game becomes repetitve, and if not careful, too tough to play at the current point in time. also bugs, and guns are unbalanced.

*had a stand off with an AI, both of us had rifles, I aimed for head, shot first, shot all bullets, did not register until I was dead...ended up killing each-other, AI shot 3-5 times, AI was in open, I was behind stairs...meh...guess you thought this would be some sort of rating or something about how wonky the mechanics are, or "would stand off again"...nope.

Pros:
+ can be stealth, or guns blazing
+ variety of weapons and gadgets
+ parkour
+ can throw swords to kill
+ kills can be made very creatively

Cons:
- A.I. needs work (they will sometimes look at you and not notice you, or pass you when looking for you)
- Ninja mode needs nerfed
(Can only be done by true ninjas, because you get caught even if the littlest thing is noticed and not actually you)
- Guns are unbalanced
(you can fill an AI with a 30 round rifle clip before it dies, you get shot 3-5 times you die, pistol sucks, and headshots do not count)

Neutrals:
* A.I. gets shotgun, you get bow shield and pistol (exclusive weapons)

Suggestions:
= Multiplayer, perhaps 2-6 player co-op and competiton modes
(see who can get most npc kills before time out or all npc's die)
= Character customization if above suggestion is taken
= Zombies (yes...it's over used but in this game it could be fun)

Only get if your up for a Hard campaing (even on easy) as multiplayer requires a GameSpy account (which shut down a while ago)...to play multiplayer you need either GS account, or hamachi...but from what little time i've played, its well put together and fun, you can control inventories and equip different equipment and weapons, Direct control is fun as well, though I couldn't find how to move, it makes shooting much more accurate and easier

The game is good...if you get to play it. When it was first released I played and it was lively, I wait a month or so and just got back on before writing this review...and its pretty much dead. I looked at all 4 rooms, there were only 4 games, 1 in america, 1 in europe, 0 in the third room (forgot area) and 2 in south america...the lobby chat had around 20 people give or take however. so I recommend the game to keep from giving it a bad review because of the player base, lack of players is the only main problem with this game. You can play with AI though for fun if you want to give it a try. Also be warned, this game seems to be haunted by the devil...or maybe it's just me with this game (I ended my play with 666 kills and 4 screenshots I took was 666 kb to upload)

This is my 3rd edit just to try and help spread the games awareness as I really dont want this to be another dead game / waste of money. The games gameplay is unique yet familiar, customization is decent and cool, and its fun. imagine a dungeon like game with loot but with it being a fully controlable character. With 1st, 3rd, and eagle eye cameras you can play the game the way you want. I understand now after all of the news and updates that this "Money Grab" game has developers who are actually trying. and its really sad this game gets the recognition it does. So I ask of this to the developers should the game go down hill. please make this game have Offline support like prelude so those of us who bought it can continue to play please. perhaps add personal server and splitscreen support as a last resort?...I know you've seen this before as you have commented on my negative review. I really do like this game personally. though its not much, its fun with friends and could be a good great game should it push through.

Nov 5 2016: A very great game for the stage its in, although needs some work, such as motorbikes need to be easier to control, and if your on a server and you lose connection you have a chance to lose items you were just moving around or messing with. i lost antidotes and stacks of ingots thru con loss...the game also needs melee weapons, ability to fight with fists, more vehicles like the motorbike (buggy, quadbike, rover) that doesnt require being built like a base, and finally character customization. all around its an amazing game, and the base/ship customization is unmatched.

EDIT Nov 10 2021: This game is one of the few early access games of its type to keep its word and has been continuously updated since its "release". to this day things are still being updated. Back when I first reviewed the game it was simple and not as much to it, not even armor sets or npcs yet. Now the game has come so far and has shops, npcs, armor, and more. I'm very happy and (idk how, or if appropriate to say proud) of how far this game has come, I also look forward to the future and what lies ahead for this game.

I downloaded this game just so I could leave a review. I played this back on xbox 360, and purchased the vip pack, only to have the game shut down less than a year later and no refunds...I liked this game a lot, but decided to basically boycot against it untill now, though I still hate the fact of what happened, I'm still gonna give it another try, all this review is saying is be carefull if you decide to buy stuff here....also during play i've come to realize the skins (which was the best part of the packs imo) are still available, and much cheaper.

This game is only for the true fans of AE and the Adventure-Quest series, as it seems they're the only people who would respect/like it, its a great simple game, and you can play across all devices, graphics may not be up to todays best, and gameplay may be worse than most of todays games, but its the fact that this is AE's first 3D game, and it keeps true to the original AQ games with the simplistic style that makes this game great, like a retro mmo, give it a try, and see if you like it because your the only one that can decide, afterall, it is free

June 18th 2019 (3 years later Edit): The game "Was" great for what it was, and I really hope this doesnt become another dead project as I also hope that it is released in my lifetime because this is one game I really want to see made and make it through. but as of right now the game is not doing well as you can see from sales being suspended and the servers are currently shut down. I was hoping for a lot with this game, but now I'm out the money I've spent on it with only the hope that it may someday be revived and make it to be a full game, or at least fulfill its promises of in-game content given by purchased packages. as I've stated I'm hoping for a lot here but I don't want this to be another waste of money, and become another "Edge of Space" or "Starforge" incident...which I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of, so go try to look it up, I'm sure there's something about it somewhere. So with that, until further notice, I have to change my review to negative, which I hate to do.


Oct 21st 2016 - 1st / main review: A lot better than most games in this early stage that i've played, very much worth the price, and it has a great potential, though not much to do right now. Pros and Cons follow:

Pros:
+Playable
+Promising Future
+Decent Graphics
+Worth the price (as it will increase upon full release)
+...More to come as more is released

Cons:
-A bit laggy, especially once you leave the starter area and go into the open wild
-At this stage there isn't much to do with the lack of customization, emotes, etc.
^ This makes it become boring very quickly, and at the current point of development playing is only to get ahead
(though I predict a character wipe before the full release)
-Lack of customization, skills, etc. (for now)
-Slow
-...Not much more to say at this point

Overall: A great game with the potential to become amazing if all statements and such are met, as of right now not much to do, but im recommending this game for the following reasons: *Cheaper while in early access, *(unless characters are wiped) Allows you to get ahead of the later players, *Recommending and Supporting helps with development resulting in quicker updates and a better game.

The most dissapointing part of this game is that theres proof that it's went to $41T, ingame if you click the steam rewards button, it would originally take you to a place to redeem codes for exclusive items (see hollow gear and greenlight helmet) now if you click that button you are taken to a "website for sell" domain, So, i originally left an unhelpful and stupid good review on this game, i've since deleted that review and this game from my pc. This game is far from finished and seems to be abandoned, though it is a good sandbox, and good for people who want to build, but I suggest starbound for better building. it's sad and such a shame that this game had so much potential and has since been seemingly abandoned even though the devs say it's not...I hope they're truthful as I'd like to see this game become more than it is. but i've had requests to update this review to be more helpful, thus pros and cons will follow:

+Unique fragmented world, and the further you drop the tougher it gets
+Unique and fun research/upgrade system
+Challenging, and fun pass time
+Sandbox
+(to my recolection) you loose nothing upon death (maybe a few research points if that, correct if wrong)

Cons
-Seemingly Abandoned (the devs say it's not, I hope they're right, explained in comment)
-No more exclusive/event rewards (unknown if will return, see greenlight helmet and hollow armor)
-Repetitive
-Quests can progress faster than you (power, level, distance wise, etc.)
-Sometimes a bit too challenging
-...as of right now, I can't think of any more

so untill this game is back to updating and no longer seems abandoned, this review will remain negative, (I would chose neutral or abstain if possible because this game can be fun sometimes)

Mad Max style vehicles, with Twisted Metal styled gameplay, and Robocraft styled customization, each part of your vehicle is destructable and will effect the performance just as the game says. I've not gotten to into the game yet, and I probablly will never update this review again, but I Highly recommend this to any Twisted Metal fan or anyone who likes similar games, and customization, (I've never played a Mad Max game or seen any movies yet, so I cant really recommend this game to fans of MM though I'm almost sure they'd like it)
