The real machine has a passive contact behind the right drop targets
and another one under the right bumper (at the right of bottom bumper).
They gives 10 points

Regarding this post, the following picture shows that the central carousel roto target has 10 faces, with the sequence A - B -C -D - JOLLY - A - B -C -D - JOLLY

Speaking about an electro mechanical game, I don't think that this mechanism could automatically move to Jolly. I also think that jolly is only a part of the special sequence.
Other aspects: the A - B - C - D near the flippers are only writings, not lamps.
So a possible "theory", considering the writings on the playfield, is the following.
A, B, C, D are lit by completing the corresponding targets' bank, or hitting the letter on carousel target
Jolly is lit by one of the corresponding two top rollovers (in fact they give 50000 points), or hitting the corresponding symbol on carousel target.
Carousel roto target is moved by the two spot targets on the top playfield.
Every time you lit a new letter or jolly, you earn 50.000 points.
To obtain the special you have to complete the sequence A B C D JOLLY: in this case, the sequence resets and you obtain an extra ball.
