Blood Bowl is an amazing tabletop that can bring about some of the highest highs and the lowest lows. It is, somehow, a perfect mix of fun and frustration that you're either into... or you're not. Simple as that.

Blood Bowl 3 the video game is a complete shi!show of freemium horsesh!t, while also wanting your money upfront.

TLDR; Grind out the teams if you can, or buy them after their respective seasons end for a reduced price. Don't give them a cent more. They don't deserve it.

Let me introduce you to the humble warpstone. It is the PREMIUM currency that everything is filtered through. You might have noticed a lack of any DLC in the Steam store page? That is because it's ALL in the in-game economy, run entirely by warpstone.
Now I will contradict myself slightly by saying that the base game is actually - especially comparing it to launch versions of the previous titles - a decent value for money. You get 12 teams and there is a bit of a free unlock track with some goodies through the Manager (profile) progression. So, yeah, actually not that bad.
What's that? You want to unlock more things? Ok, well, back to the warpstone, which sells at a rate of around 100WS for 1 Euro. Yes, Euro. Because it doesn't matter where you hail from, the in-game store's prices will still be in Euros. Enjoy the conversion rates!
Now, that, by itself, won't tell you much, so how about some actual prices, then? Or, even, what can you buy?
Well, anything! Player gear; Pitches and their customizations; cheerleaders; coaches; and, of course, teams.
The gear and the teams are the easiest, so I'll start there.
Gear is sold based on an arbitrary rareness system, with prices ranging from 75WS to 750WS. And it gets better. You see, the so-called "Legendary" items are per player purchases. Meaning that the single "Legendary" piece can only be equipped on a single player on a single team. Want to equip multiple players? Buy multiple pieces, again, for 750WS apiece.
Teams have two ways of unlocking. Either you grind out a Blood Pass or you buy them.
To grind out a whole pass, you need to gain cumulative 50000XP. The clearest cut XP gains are from the weeklies - at 1500 apiece -, and only "Win X number of games" need to be done in PvP. As far as how much a single match gives? Who the f@ck knows. No, seriously, nobody knows. But a game a day - whether PvP or AI -, mixed in with a weekly or two, should net you that free team within a given season.
Otherwise, a current season team will set you back 1000WS; but if you wait until the next season, the team will go down to 750WS, with a possibility of a futher discount via a team bundle.
So, that's that out of the way. You can grind things, you can buy things. Easy enough.
What's that? What about the rest? Oh, my friends, this is where we really are in deep sh!t.
Because, you see, Blood Bowl 3 separates its offerings between a whopping THREE separate storefronts.
Storefront 1: The Player Gear store. You search by team and position, and just buy what you want.
Storefront 2: The Teams store. Barring the current season team - which can, again, be grinded out in, or bought through, the current Blood Pass - all the teams can be purchased here. You have various oprions, as well, depending if you want just the team, or some extra items bundles with them.
Storefront 3: Oh, this is it. The big one. This is where the rest of the available purchases reside, which are rotated in and out of the store on a timed, random basis. Didn't get what you wanted while it was available? Too bad. When will it be back? Nobody knows.

If that seems like a lot, well, yes, yes it is.
And they got all of this locked down and working long before any bug fixes, proper features, or anything else that would actually improve the experience.
IT TOOK THEM LONGER TO IMPLEMENT RECONNECTION FEATURES.

In the end, if you can get into the game while engaging with the "economy" as little as possible, then welcome, we always need more players. Otherwise - and ESPECIALLY if you're any sort of impulse buyer -, as much as it breaks my heart, STAY AWAY. FUMBBL is still out there.
