The Concept of Quarters:
Pretend every game you play on Steam is a real arcade cabinet, and you have to pop in quarters to play. How does the game measure up?

I find that most Steam games, especially when on sale, easily provide more return value in entertainment than most arcade games. Sure beats the days of renting stuff for the weekend.

I enjoy role-playing, MMO, strategy, (real time, turn based, and tower defense), adventure, platformer, side-scroller, card, and puzzle games. I also play fighting, racing, and music games casually. I very much appreciate a good story! I avoid first-person games because of motion sickness, especially fast-paced ones or ones with fish-bowl lens. I tend to avoid jump-scare games. I do not play sports games, not because I hate them; I simply haven't had the chance or motive to play modern ones.

If you read any of my reviews, I consider a 5 out of 10 a failing grade. It is equivalent to a 1 star out of 4 or 5.
