This is the game the never, ever ends. I picked this game up thinking I wouldn't like it having never played a previous TES game before. Sat in my Library untouched for about a month or two, and finally took the plunge.

I was wrong. I was so very, very wrong.

This is probably the best purchase I've ever made on steam. Add in the unlimited potential of modding, and it's an adventure that continues forever. I've probably restarted over a hundred times by now with a new character, and still only have beaten Alduin once. ONCE. There's still so much more do to and explore that I'm still discovering quests and areas and little hidden things. I still can't believe how much there is to do and I'm still finding more.

At it stands I'll probably wake up one day having lost all touch with reality and actually start seeing the world as Skyrim with how much I've played.

And I'm totally ok with that.

Great review and agree 100%..Bethesda and the modding community created a once in a lifetime opportunity with Skyrim for players to mold this game as you please and play out any desire the players have in a large truly open world environment. Of course you have to use your brain a little and that seems lacking in today's instant gratification culture..I have been modding games since morrowind and make many of my own mods for all of the bethesda game now.The fact is OP Morrowind still has my heart but Skyrim with 90 mods running just right is hands down one of the best games ever. Best 49 dollar investment in a game I have made. OP If you ever need a old mod and you can not find it just contact me I may have it..I have a huge database of mods for skyrim dating back to 2012

It's the same place of heart I place Morrowind in. For real, TES-games are not that good. But, somehow, they are very easy to dive in and never reach the surface again, to fall in love with a world with all its emptiness and unpolishness. Where there isn't enough of something – you yourself imagine the rest.

P.S. By the way, for 10 years I've defeated Dagoth Ur only twice :)

"This is the game the never, ever ends." Nope, at least not compared to the previous titles. Skyrim is the most dumbed down, gameplay and RPG feature stripped TES game there is that it is quite insulting, and now this paid mods bs pops up and it gets even worse.

Some people might say this game is too mainstream, but there's a reason games are mainstream to begin with. This is a great introduction to TES franchise, even if some might tell you otherwise. While Oblivion and Morrowind are very good games, they are a little bit too complex for people looking to get into TES games, plus Skyrim has a much higher replayability value, with countless side quests that make the time melt away. Overall, my only true problem with this game is that to fully enjoy it, you have to put a lot of hours into it, because this world is probably the one I've been most immersed in ever. 10/10

I have something about skyrim. I am pretty sure about 5 years ago, maybe less, my sister started playing on the xbox 360 (x360 will alaways have my heart :() It looked fun at times but also complex. I told myself i wouldn't play until i understood the story. Well, It happenned. Her x360 BROKE. My parents wouldn't get a new one, i couldn't, (I was broke) and nor would my sister. So we have this old beat up desktop. It's able to run this game well. So when i scrape up da money, i think i will buy this game based off the AMAZING reviews, and the gameplay I watched mmy sister do. So should I Buy this game?
