Summary: If you consider yourself as a player who plays for the story, then don't hesitate and buy it now, you're going to love it (If you don't believe me try out the first episode, it's free).

You, dear player, got lucky you found this game among many others. I only hope that you're here to expirience amazing story and not to find a game which will cut you off daily stress. It's intense, but not dynamic. It's perfect, but not for everybody.

The story is told from the perspective of 18 year old art student, Max. She is quiet, dorky and anxious. At least that's what you can tell when you meet her. She has to struggle with her life as a student both with other students and with her own shyness. It seems like archeotypical plot a la 90210 or Degrassi but there is one major difference - as the prologue goes, Max discovers that she can change the reality by manipulating time. Sounds typical again? But it's not, she doesn't feel omnipotent so as not the player. That's a nice change after almost all the other games. She tries to live her life but it turns out to be impossible as the drama in school develops.

Storyline is complex, but not complicated. There are many well written characters on the Max's path with whom our little student interacts in one way or another. It is important that Max, although shy, has her own perspective and opinion and we cannot change her totally, we can only work within her personality. That's understandable but two or three times the game didn't offer me the solution I would choose. Was it much? Not really, considering that it was important for the complexity of story and Max's personality. I must admit, it's very hard not to love and attach to Max as we accompany her during her journey. And this journey?
It is absolutely beautiful, moving, shocking and thrilling. The side stories are engaging and very important for the main plot. We discover Max's reality by small observations and not obligatory conversations with secondary characters. Information collected in those ways affect heavily main storyline and this is what makes this story and world coherent. Maybe that's why I cared so much about Max and fate of other characters. It's not hard to get very emotional while playing this game. And watch out, your eyes might get wet!
The story is not only awesomely written but also presented very well. What we hear seems to match ideally what we see and what we see is truly artistic and well directed.

The only negative thing I have to point out is that face animations were broken in two or three situations which was really disturbing. What's more, those animations are the only thing which is not absolutely positive, but this started to be an issue only after 3/4 of the game. Maybe it's because dialogs are one of the most important features of the game.

The last reason why I loved Life is Strange (and maybe the most important) is the moral aspect of the story. We see the world with the opinions of 18 year old. She is still a teenager (and we have to remember that, otherwise you might get frustrated sometimes) but she is grounded and she sees things in a very mature way. Although she get's emotional, with our little help (right choices) she might show us how right decisions and words may affect relationships. And if we are not satisfied with the effect? We can go back in time to see if we can fix the reality. But can we do it for good? Well, that's what you have to find out on your own.
