I played this in 2007 and have reminisced about this game ever since. It's truly one of my favorite games of ALL TIME. This remaster does an amazing job remastering the PS1 version, the one that I love and cherish, almost flawlessly. The quality of life improvements are nice and having Classic/Remastered mode that you can swap between (though not seamlessly like in Spyro or Crash's remasters) is a nice touch.

The only issue I have with this remaster is the voices. I was really hoping at least the Classic version used the original PS1 voices. I was hoping to listen to John Truitt's Ghaleon one more time because he truly was perfect for the role. It's like eating a food you loved from your childhood but just one small thing is off, but sometimes that's all it takes to turn you away from finishing the meal.

It's not even JUST that I wanted the old voices to stay true to the version they're remastering, but as someone who loves voice acting, I'm not a fan of the voice acting redub at all. There doesn't seem to be near as much soul in the voices. The more I think about it the more I'm let down by the voice thing.

I urge everyone who loves old-school RPGs like Chrono Trigger or the older Final Fantasy games to play this game. It's truly one of the greats and now accessible to everyone. Don't let the price deter you.

$60 is a lot better than the combined $450 my local game shop wants for the PS1 versions of Silver Star Story: Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete.

In the Sega Saturn version Luna never went with Alex and Nall. The PS1 version was changed to build the love between the two.

None of the re-releases have ever re-captured the VO of the original PS1 version. These at least seem better than some of the last versions released. Seems like they at least took inspiration from the Working Designs release.

SEGA CD versions of Lunar Silver Star and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue will forever be the best versions, by quite a wide margin.

Hopefully these get interest in Lunar 3 at least. Us OG Lunar fans have been waiting for 30 years and only getting meh Remaster after meh Remaster.

I'm kinda hoping that someone will figure out how to mod in the original voice acting eventually. Time will tell if it is even possible.
